If anyone would like to go ice skating, please do feel free to join me in the unused gathering hall on the fifth floor of Caer Glaem. Skates can be provided for those who need them, as well as a quick skating lesson, if you've never had the chance to try before. I'll be here all day.
I hope to see you soon!
Oh, and don't forget to bundle up!
[ ooc: basically Elsa's taken one of the bigger rooms and froze it all over, so it'll probably look a little like this, only wider right yeah. big room. instead of putting up a log I'm just going to say go ahead and use this as an actionspam party post kinda deal, if you want! closed threads are cool ( even if they're not open to Elsa, though you can handwave that she gave them literal ice skates ), open to all that would have access to the Seelie castle. i just thought an ice skating party would be cute, haha. just label if it's a text reply or an action thread in the subject or whatever, yus ]

-- Mind if I ask why you won't be skating? It's really rather fun, once you get the hang of it.

Her fairy entourage, on the other hand--three wee creatures who followed her here for curiosity's sake--look considerably unsure of this business. One is perched on her shoulder when she first takes off. It gives a meep and holds on for dear life. As she gains speed, however, it starts shrieking in wild elation. The second buries itself in the warm pocket of her patched, worn coat, while the third sits on her head, holding her hair like reins.

Hello. [ she nods to the one that's up on top of her head, smiling, even if it probably seems a little bit shaky. niiiice fairy. gooood fairy. ] Your friends seem to be enjoying themselves.
SORRY I keep thinking of things

she actually doesn't mind that he's showing off, maybe some part of her feeds off of that confidence, likes being around it. like she could pick up some of it if she tried. however, once she notices the trail of frost he's leaving behind, she's fussing. she's on skates of her own creation, as usual, trying her best to catch up with him even if the ice is a little rough in his wake. ]
Other people would like to skate on this ice too, you know. [ fuss fuss lecture lecture. she sweeps her hand out around herself in a broad motion, leaving the patterns the same ( even if they mess up her gORGEOUS FRACTALS ) only smoothing them out, making the ice glassy smooth again ] Those of us who unfortunately need to wear skates in order to do so. Unlike some people, who can just glide around skateless on the ice without a care in the world.

Even if he'd gotten a sample of her powers when she'd frozen the soup, it's sort of a shock to walk into the room and find the floor covered in ice. It's...kind of pretty, he has to admit, and he finds himself smiling as he watches the others who have come by skating around.
He hangs back though, off against the wall, just watching. Skating isn't exactly something he can do anymore. Not with his prosthetic foot. He's had a hard enough time getting used to just walking on it, and he's kind of doubting that they make skates for peg-legs anyway.
So yes. Just hanging back and watching the fun. That's fun enough on it's own! ...Mostly.]

Hello! [ she's obviously in a great mood, cheeks flush, smile bright. Elsa's basically in her happy place right now, and she's excited he's there too ] It's nice to see you again, Hiccup.

Oh. [She punctuates her thought out loud and tries to think of how to gracefully rescue herself from this.
Unhelpfully, two of her fairies catch up to her and the third peeps out from her coat pocket, adding three additional pairs of staring eyes.]

of course, the actual thing looks less like an ice rink and more like a ballroom decorated by boreas while in a particularly artsy mood, so forgive him if he just stands stunned in the doorway for a bit.]
action;
[ she thinks he's hesitating because of the fact that there's ice everywhere, and she can't really blame him. if she hadn't formed the ice along the walls and ceiling herself, she would definitely find reason to be wary of it. however! she knows it's rock solid, so she skates to the edge closest to the entrance as soon as she notices him in the doorway, giving him a ( hopefully! ) encouraging smile ]
I should have formed some sort of border around the rink, and the path around it, shouldn't I? Oh. [ she twists her mouth up a bit, turning on her skates to look out at the rest of the rink. and then she's reaching out to draw an oval in the air with her fingers, making a darkdark blue ring form around the outside of it. it's not raised or anything, but it's a much clearer indication of where the rink ends and the dry floor begins ] Much better.

It's almost like dancing, on ice. Although you don't have to dance, necessarily. [ why is she so bad at explaining something she loves to do? ] I could show you? If you'd like. That might be easier than trying to explain.
[Action]
But even an Old One could only spend so long in one place.
And so when he hears the message about skating in the castle, he was more than curious enough to come to see it for himself.
Tugging a bit at his heavy jacket, he steps into the room and moves into a quiet corner to observe everything.

Hello, there. I'm Elsa. [ not quite babyvoicing him, but she's trying her best to just seem, you know, friendly. she doesn't have a lot of experience with --well, anyone, but kids especially. ] Are you waiting for ice skates? Or did you just want to watch for a little while?
