If anyone would like to go ice skating, please do feel free to join me in the unused gathering hall on the fifth floor of Caer Glaem. Skates can be provided for those who need them, as well as a quick skating lesson, if you've never had the chance to try before. I'll be here all day.
I hope to see you soon!
Oh, and don't forget to bundle up!
[ ooc: basically Elsa's taken one of the bigger rooms and froze it all over, so it'll probably look a little like this, only wider right yeah. big room. instead of putting up a log I'm just going to say go ahead and use this as an actionspam party post kinda deal, if you want! closed threads are cool ( even if they're not open to Elsa, though you can handwave that she gave them literal ice skates ), open to all that would have access to the Seelie castle. i just thought an ice skating party would be cute, haha. just label if it's a text reply or an action thread in the subject or whatever, yus ]

[ she's looking up at the ice formations on the ceiling, her cheeks turning a little pink because yeah, maybe she's really proud of what she can do now, and how everything looks kind of magical. the ice doesn't intimidate her anymore, and it's nice to share that with people ]
I don't have to form the shapes or anything, I can kind of just picture it in my head and the magic does all the fancy work. When I allow it, at least.

[Blinking in surprise, he takes another long look around the room, really admiring her work. And totally wishing he had some kind of magic, oh man. Even if he's a little averse to the idea of having ice magic himself--there's more than enough winter in Berk, there would be no need for someone to bring in more.]
Well, it looks great. Amazing, actually. I've seen a lot of snow and ice in my life, but I've never seen it look...nice.
[He loses a little steam toward the end, glancing back at her awkwardly, wearing a semi-sheepish smile.]

And excuse you, he's got Viking beef on him!! ...Definitely.]
Then you don't ever want to bring her to Berk. We get winter for nine months a year. You might like it, though. [There's a slightly teasing smile.]
That must be kind of tough for her, though. Not very cold-tolerant with a sister who could probably make it blizzard inside the house. [There's a questioning look now, but he's just trying to keep a friendly conversation going. And maybe trying to get to know her a little better.]

Oh, she quite likes my magic, as long as she's prepared for it. Though I only just recently started using it around her again. There was a long- long time where I tried very hard not to use my magic at all. [ hupbupbup trying to be casual about this although that awkward kid side-eye is starting to make it's appearance ]
But here! Things are different, it's more common for people to have some sort of magic, like I do. In a lot of ways, I think she would like it here very much. If it weren't for the war, at least.

Oh. [Looks like he touched a bit of a nerve there. He's curious as to why she tried not to use her magic--because it's pretty awesome, why wouldn't you use it?--but with how uncomfortable she looks just mentioning it, he decides it's better to just let it go
(ha ha)for now and simply nod.]If it weren't for the war, I think this place would be even better in everyone's opinion. [Smiling, but the thing he'd really need to consider this place great is Toothless. And he's not so sure that'll ever happen.] It's sort of good that the people we care about aren't here, because it keeps them safe and out of this whole...thing. But at the same time, it's hard to be here without them.
[Sort of going a little off topic, but...]

Anna is safer at home, without a doubt. Though for me, it's the thought of her thinking I left her alone at the kingdom after- everything we just went through. What if she thinks I ran away? And without saying goodbye, it's-
[ UH really dramatic to talk about with someone while wearing ice skates and a hoodie ok so she pulls in a breath, lifts her hand a little bit in a very Disney Princess way, a "woops lost myself there for a second" way ]
If the rulers of this place wish to make any sense, they'll bring her along eventually, too. Separating Anna and I is in no way a good tactic to get me to agree to fight in their war.

[His shoulders sink a little, because this is a pretty heavy conversation they've gotten themselves into. As Elsa pulls herself back together though, Hiccup glances up at her curiously.]
Have you tried telling them that? I don't know if they actually, you know, listen to that sort of thing, but it could be worth a try. I mean, if it might get you your sister back.
no subject
[ anyways!! ]
For now, I should like to continue making the most of our free time here. I do wish I could think of a way to get you on skates, Hiccup, but- [ she doesn't have the same ice know-how as Jack just yet, so she'll leave that to him yep sure that's what she's thinking and it's not just me seeing what's going on in Hiccup's thread with Jack below, ahemahem ] How do you feel about sledding? [ GRIN ]

[Encouraging smile right there, even though he's...not so sure it's something the royals would grant. But! It's a possibility, at least.]
Oh, no, that's oka-- [He's already raising his hands in a gesture that's supposed to tell her not to worry about it, but he stops mid-movement at her question. Sledding, hm?] ...Actually, I don't mind sledding. It's one of the few things I enjoy about winter. --Uh, no offence.
[IT'S NOTHING PERSONAL but that grin she's wearing puts a somewhat hesitant look on his face.]
Why, exactly? I don't think there's enough room in here for you to build a hill of snow... [Or is there.]

[ she turns to look out at the rest of the room again, checking to see who's standing around the rink, and where. but it's honestly not too crowded, most people are on the ice by now. so she wiggles her fingers a bit, like she's trying to warm them up ( ha ha ) before sweeping them across her body from left to right. along three sides of the room, a snowbank between three and five feet high ( depending on where you're looking ) forms around the perimeter of the room. it's banked a little in some places, but otherwise it's just a winding strip with little hills of different heights along the way. like those kiddie roller coaster rides at modern theme parks that Elsa nor Hiccup know of at all. but yeah! like that. she seems pretty proud of herself by the time the glittering snow all settles into place, a set of icy steps forming at the end nearest them ]
The sled will have to be made of ice, unfortunately. [ for your butt. ] Unless we can find a suitable alternative. A safe alternative. Something you can hold onto. I'll be able to keep the sled on the snow, but- hm. [ and now she's looking around for something Hiccup can use as a sled. unfortunately, everything really is covered in ice already. besides a few chairs. ]
no subject
Oh-- [His attention is only dragged back to Elsa when she speaks, his mouth still just slightly agape.] Er, I don't know that we'll find anything in here that'll work very well as a substitute sled. But I think I can handle sitting on one made of ice. I'm a viking, after all.
[Chest puffing up in what's supposed to be an impressive display that shows he ain't afraid of no cold, he gives Elsa a nod. Go on, ice is fine, let's do this sled thing.]
no subject
[ because that way she knows she'll have complete control over the sled, and the icy snow he'll be sledding on. which is idea! for safety reasons, yes. no room for error, outside of her own head. but she's not worried ( which is... a thing she'll think about later ) because she's been working on focus and control with Korra. it's all part of her training. only now she's getting to use it for fun.
so she works her magic again, forming what looks like a classic sled, with a backed seat and lots of leg room, placing it on the flat area at the start of the track ]
The stairs shouldn't be too slippery, they're made of packed snow. I'l be right here, though.
[ the "in case you need an emergency pile of fluffy white snow to fall onto" goes unsaid ]

[Because while he's climbed snow before, thank you very much, he hasn't ever with his awkward new foot. So the gods only know what might happen, really. At least he'll have a fallback plan (literally) if it doesn't work so well.
However, Hiccup mounts the stairs easily. Which sort of amazes him for a minute, even if he'll never admit to it. It helps him manage an eager smile though, because hey, if he can get up snow stairs, this sledding thing should be fun! He's never gone magic ice sledding before!]
Alright. [Climbing onto the sled (and only slipping around a little), he looks back down at Elsa, excited but nervous at the same time.] I'm ready if you are!
