If anyone would like to go ice skating, please do feel free to join me in the unused gathering hall on the fifth floor of Caer Glaem. Skates can be provided for those who need them, as well as a quick skating lesson, if you've never had the chance to try before. I'll be here all day.
I hope to see you soon!
Oh, and don't forget to bundle up!
[ ooc: basically Elsa's taken one of the bigger rooms and froze it all over, so it'll probably look a little like this, only wider right yeah. big room. instead of putting up a log I'm just going to say go ahead and use this as an actionspam party post kinda deal, if you want! closed threads are cool ( even if they're not open to Elsa, though you can handwave that she gave them literal ice skates ), open to all that would have access to the Seelie castle. i just thought an ice skating party would be cute, haha. just label if it's a text reply or an action thread in the subject or whatever, yus ]

Uhh... Okay... [Still definitely questioning how this is going to work, Hiccup obliges, leaning back against the wall so he can prop himself up on one foot. Lifting his good one, he sets it in Jack's upturned hand and watches with a raised brow.] I still don't get it. How are you going to make up the difference?

With ice, obviously.
[ Giving the underside of a bulky shoe a pat, he gauges the weight and shifts his attention to the peg-leg, blowing onto it to crystallize ice and weaving it thicker with his hands. He needs no sculptor's tools but it's easy enough to slough off the bits he doesn't want, leaving enough air-pockets here and there so it isn't ridiculously heavy.
A minute or so along, Hiccup has an ice-foot of generally the same weight and heft as his usual one. Hands returning to his knees, Jack looks up. ]
Good so far? Next comes the skates.

Oh. Right.
[Obviously. Once he's got both feet back on the ground, Hiccup watches Jack even more cautiously, growing less and less sure of what to expect here. Even if he's just been told that it's ice.
Admittedly, he's...pretty impressed as he sees Jack work. Of course, there was never anything to worry about from the start, and he knows that, but still... Testing out the now-ice-foot, just shifting around for a few seconds, Hiccup finds himself nodding.]
Yeah, actually. [Sorry Jack, he sounds more surprised than he should.] Better than I expected with ice. --Not that I didn't expect it to work. Just. ...Yeah. Yeah, all good.
[He's ready for the skates just as soon as he quits his babbling.]

[ Jack trails two fingers underneath Hiccup's feet, real and icy, and a pair of blades appear there, stuck to the soles. He rises and steps back, offering his hands (one hand and a staff-gripping wrist, really) to help him balance. ]
Need some help getting out there?
[ As much as he loves the rush of adrenaline and literally flying by the seat of his pants, causing a ruckus as Elsa would say, he's all about helping kids find their niche in wintertime too. ]

[He's never really learned how to shut up. Watching as Jack creates literal ice skates out of thin air manages to get him quiet, however. For the brief moment it takes, anyway.]
Uhhh... [Tentatively taking the offered hand and wrist while still staring down at his feet, Hiccup doesn't have to think about that for long.] Probably, yeah. I'd rather not faceplant just trying to get on the ice.
[Hahahahaha he's totally joking, that would never happen ever if he tried to get out there on his own. Nope. He'd be totally graceful.]
That'd--yeah, be good. Thanks.
