[ Allison's first ever post on the network is her sitting on her bed, a large bow sitting on her lap. In her hands, she's got a single arrow, green and white fletched. She's toying with it as she talks to the network, and she looks a little proud but mostly sheepish. ] So I guess helping out those fairies was a good thing.

[ She clears her throat. ]

So, since I want to try it out... I was just wondering, anyone want to go with me? It's always more fun to practice with someone else.

[ She reaches out to turn the locket off, but remembers something! ] My name is Allison, by the way! I haven't really introduced myself on here, yet.

[ There's a small, kind of self conscious wave, and then she shuts the video off. ]

[Chieri's more of a sword user herself, but it's always good to learn new skills. Especially with guns out of commission, she needs a new projectile weapon. If Allison is interested, she'd like to give it a try.]

I'm Chieri, nice to meet you Allison. I've never tried it much, would you mind practicing with a beginner?

Okay, I'll get a bow. Where are you? It might take me a while to get there.

You said the fairies gave you that?

Sort of? They asked me if I wanted anything, because I helped cure some sick fairies a while ago... I just told them a new bow and some arrows. And this is what I got.

( voice. )

[ okay, now that she's jealous of, if only because she wasn't too happy facing down imps.

she still refused to kill any of them. ]

You got to cure them? I just got stuck with a bunch of nasty imps that really liked to bite.

[ 8| okay, but... no one really cares, so let's talk about the important thing here. ]

[ Speaking with Clarisse over the locket recently has opened him up to the idea of browsing it for the sake of browsing it. Watching what people are up to and what they have to say, thus he sees this, thus he responds as the subject is still, in some way, close to his heart.

Vaguely, it makes him glance sideways towards his own bow that he has been gifted without even asking for it... Mirkwood make, he can recognise that easily. Though when he finally asks the locket to respond, it carries his voice only. ]

Challenge those who are willing, I find such games help you drive yourself beyond any limits.

[ There is a hint of a smile in his voice, tired, yet distinct, and only a brief pause later, Legolas continues politely. ]

Well met, Allison. Rudely I am only a voice to you right now, but my name is Legolas. I wish you fruitful practise with your new bow.

Oh! [ She doesn't mean to sound so surprised, but he's so... polite. ] Thank you. Sorry, I guess I just wasn't expecting formality. Well met to you, too, Legolas?

[ She said that right, right? ]

I have to admit, I wasn't thinking they'd give me one that was so... nice. It's weirdly kind of perfect for me.

[ He takes it all in stride, in good humour and good graces. ]

You need not apologise at all, you have done nothing wrong.

[ Though he's vaguely amused that she thought she had. He doesn't even think he's so formal himself... in truth. ]

The rewards do tend to be well fashioned for all that receive them. I have received a bow as well myself, though I did not ask for one.

[The bow looks very fine to Jon, who decides on a whim to offer - very fine, and very different to the short, white weirwood bow he remembers in Ygritte's hands. He wrestles a slight smile onto his sullen face, pushing that idea aside.]

If you do not have too many already, I would join you, Lady Allison. I fear I've neglected practice with a bow for practice with a sword too often, of late.

Are you at Caer Glaem? [ Not that she doesn't want another archery buddy -- but it seems that most of them aren't of her Court, and that makes for difficulty in getting together to practice, it seems. She doesn't want to make yet another person go all the way out to the Station just to meet up with her and shoot for a while.

She might sound a little surprised at the 'Lady' bit, too. She's not used to that, like, at all. ]

Aye, I am. [He looks a bit sheepish at the admission. As divided as their courts are, it sometimes slips his mind that the sorcery of the locket should allow them to speak to people from both lands as easily.] I ought to have asked that first, I suppose.

[ a thoughtful hum. ] If I was there, I so would — unless you're talking "shooting an apple off your head" kind of practice.

[ hey, it's a legitimate concern, considering some of the people around here. ]

Hey, I'm not questioning your skill. [ a cringy sort of smile. ] Just taking my rotten luck into account.

[ of course the bow pings clarisse, because she's the daughter of ares and that comes with a love of all weapons, even if she doesn't particularly like the bow all that much. the bow is too long range for her taste; she's more of a mid to close range fighter, her weapons of choice being a spear, a sword, and her fists. she'd actually just prefer to shoot things with guns half the time, but the monsters she was trained to fight don't go down from just being shot by regular bullets. why they can't just make celestial bronze bullets is beyond her, and beckendorf died before she could really try to sell the idea to him. ]

Not my favorite kind of target practice, but it's not like I've really got anything better to do. I'm a little rusty on my bowmanship, anyway.

[ ahaha it's really more a question of what doesn't she do... which is pretty much nothing when it comes to weapons, though she does hold a strong bias toward her spear. ]

I prefer guns, but those aren't exactly commonplace around here. Technically wasn't allowed to use them back home, anyway, at least not at camp, but when your dad's the god of war, age doesn't really mean jack when it comes to private target practice. [ not that she ever really got to go to ares' private gun range more than a handful of times, but... technicalities. ] 'Course, it might take all day if I tried to list of every weapon I know how to use.
