[ And the smiling, freckled face of one Ginny Weasley is all up in this locket. She's clearly outside, soaking in the sunshine as she pulls back so her face isn't filling up the view. ]

There's been loads of talk lately about learning how to fight. Well, fight in other ways, proper swords and all. I reckon I got by all right with my wand during the worm fiasco but I can't deny that's a good thought. Merlin knows I've considered it. [ She laughs. ] Especially since I can imagine my mum in fits over me swinging a sword around.

[ She pauses, then, biting her lip around a thoughtful smile before scrambling forward (carefully) to hang her locket off a low branch of a tree in the bailey. She's sprawled (perhaps rather unladlylike, given the gown she's still getting used to wearing) on a stone bench, a broomstick in her lap, and she looks positively pleased about it. ]

But this is what I'm really excited about. I've had it since the fighting was over, as a gift... [ But she was still a little too banged up to use it. BUT NOW. ] It'd be nice, don't you think, to explore this place a bit? Beyond the castle. I'd love to see what's out there, properly out there.

[ Ginny releases the broom and it rises gently into the air. She touches it fondly. ]

Can't say I fancy flying in a dress, though. Am I allowed trousers here?

[ He overhears and catches with the corner of his eye some of it, some of the broadcast. His attention drawn by words, light and easy and spoken seemingly to no one. And in particular he overhears the mention of a gift and how Ginny is sitting with a broom.

Legolas cocks his head and approaches only when she seems done with conversing to the strange (forever strange and perhaps a little magic) device. ]

[ He offers a smile, small but kind and ever helpful, though after a moment his gaze curiously rests on the broom. Why? ]

[ Ginny glances up when she's approached, unable to place why she recognises the voice and face but then it clicks into place when he smiles—laughing, a language she didn't understand, flowers. She never caught a name but she grins now, a little abashed but still easy-going. ]

I've been in a castle before but not quite like this one with kings and queens. Sometimes I feel like there's some sort of—dress code. [ Well, to be fair, she's lived with a uniform at school for six years. ] But obviously I'm just being ridiculous, it's not like I was rolling around with the worms in a skirt.

[ One hand lifts off her broom and she extends it to shake. ]

[ sword. fighting. wand. fly. they're all the words that have luke's brows rising — half in interest and half in curiosity. he has shoes that'll help him to fly, but she has a broom that floats in the air. for someone who uses converse to take to the skies, him finding it strange she'd use a broom to sweep the clouds away is a little ironic. but even though he finds his interest piqued by the broom that hovers, he's not responding to her broadcast about cleaning up equipment. ]

Better give your mom something to really throw a fit about, then. Are you wanting to learn how to fight with a sword — [ even though she's stated she had used a wand — something that's made of wood, much like her broom, that's associated with witches and magic, such a hecate character trait — he can't help but have a minor dig. ] — or a broom?

[ he's certain he could turn the broom into a weapon (he'd done so with a golf club, once upon a time) but swords are more in his area of expertise. ]

[ To be fair, Molly Weasley would throw a fit about most anything these days, they're all so on edge and the idea of her children doing anything remotely life-threatening isn't a comforting one. Flying alone has its dangers, it's why Ginny loves it so much, the thrill is incredible and the competition is fierce. But then she started lifting her wand in combat instead of Charms class and she wasn't the only one.

Ginny raises her brows at the new voice coming from her locket then her eyes narrow briefly at his last comment. ]

I could fight on a broom, don't get me wrong. I'm bloody good in the air and with a wand. [ Ginny Weasley's modesty, ladies and gents. Then she shrugs. ] But seeing as you've never seen me do either, I'll forgive you this time.
