Hullo.
[ And the smiling, freckled face of one Ginny Weasley is all up in this locket. She's clearly outside, soaking in the sunshine as she pulls back so her face isn't filling up the view. ]
There's been loads of talk lately about learning how to fight. Well, fight in other ways, proper swords and all. I reckon I got by all right with my wand during the worm fiasco but I can't deny that's a good thought. Merlin knows I've considered it. [ She laughs. ] Especially since I can imagine my mum in fits over me swinging a sword around.
[ She pauses, then, biting her lip around a thoughtful smile before scrambling forward (carefully) to hang her locket off a low branch of a tree in the bailey. She's sprawled (perhaps rather unladlylike, given the gown she's still getting used to wearing) on a stone bench, a broomstick in her lap, and she looks positively pleased about it. ]
But this is what I'm really excited about. I've had it since the fighting was over, as a gift... [ But she was still a little too banged up to use it. BUT NOW. ] It'd be nice, don't you think, to explore this place a bit? Beyond the castle. I'd love to see what's out there, properly out there.
[ Ginny releases the broom and it rises gently into the air. She touches it fondly. ]
Can't say I fancy flying in a dress, though. Am I allowed trousers here?

thank you!! i'm super fond
What I'm cool with is people knowing I'm a witch. But making me out to be a liar? Not my favourite thing, no. [ An easy little shrug. ] Besides, I'd put you back to rights. I haven't gotten detention for that sort of stuff in years— [ She's gotten "detention"
torturefor lesser things, lately. Like breathing. ] —and really, it would just be poking a bit of fun. My brothers have had it worse from my end, flying bogies and all... But they're gits half the time, they were asking for it.;) <3
[There's a hint of knowledge there, but it's brief. She doesn't have to know he's aware of what that stuff comes with. As far as alternate universes are concerned it leaves him a lot of wiggle room to do what he wants with.]
The hell's a bogie?
[Sorry. Not too familiar with the slang from across the pond, never been there. He doesn't plan to go either.]
Never mind. You just, uh, keep on being crazy.

[ And then he asks the second bit and everything else derails. Suddenly, the good humour in Ginny's expression is replaced with something far more serious, copper brows knit, voice firm. ]
I don't do Dark magic. Never have, never will.

Dark magic leaves its mark on the caster, too. [ She doesn't know how, she doesn't know what the others know about horcruxes and Voldemort, but she can guess. ] And it takes a certain kind of horrible person to do any of those spells, hurting people because you just want to, killing— [ Her jaw tightens. ] You don't know me and I don't know you, but if there's anything you take away from this, it's that I don't do Dark magic. I've seen enough of what it can do to people.

That's what I though. You shouldn't talk yourself up here, princess. There's people that'd take the fiction as reality and use that to their advantage.

[ And so she draws her wand, flicks it at the locket to lift it up off the branch and to a better vantage point. Then Ginny points it at a nearby rock, which she enchants to be larger (Engorgio, under her breath), Transfigures into a figure not unlike a dummy people use to practice weapons on, then promptly blasts it apart (Reducto!). If people are trying to have a chill morning in the bailey, sorry about it.
Ginny can't help but shoot a look at the locket, a little irritated and smug both, then looks back to the shattered pieces which she neatly puts back together with a sweep of her wand, good as new. ]
ugh thought* am i the only one who hates those kinda typos in posts bc cmon rly
There a way you could rig my car up so the gas is self-replenishing? It'd really help me get around this joint.
i saw nothing i promise
Are you always this rude?
:'D ur the best
[Which is true. Given the circumstances and still being stuck here after a month he's not in the best mood.]
But you were right. Guess magic really is more than slight of hand.

[ She sits back, sliding her wand away, leaning back on the heels of her palms. Yeah, she just wanted to hear him say she was right. Damn straight. ]
And to answer your other question: probably, but I wouldn't know where to begin. My Dad mucked around with a car a few years ago, made it fly. But I didn't see what he did.

[It was a long shot, but he really didn't know any other way to get around and a car that could get around without depleting fluids would help a lot of people out. That, and it had his arsenal. No way he'd leave it behind. It put a real damper on the social interaction. Especially since he made it to the station before realizing that everyone else was in Caer Glam.]
If you can manage it, I'll find some way to pay you back. We'll negotiate.

You don't even know my name, mate.

[There's a hitched sigh. He almost forgot how frustrating teenage girls could be. No matter where they're from. Besides, if he was honest, he didn't really care who she was. Not right now. Maybe after they did some talking he'd change his tune.]
I'm Dave.

[ dean u suck ]
Ginny Weasley. I'd say it was a pleasure but I'm still trying to decide on that.

[He really doesn't know what it is. Just knows that he's continually irritated by every conversation he has on this thing. This is why he prefers face to face interaction to the lockets.]
I grow on you.

[ Like she's making this any easier. ]

[Cuz he noticed. He's used to putting up with willful brats but usually everyone chills out when he turns on his charm. Not this hothead.]

Ginny Weasley may be a good person but that doesn't mean she can't be stubbornly proud, too. Gryffindor to the core. ]
Pretty driven to do a lot of things. Whatever wins this war and gets us home, right?

Do what you want, I just thought an alliance'd be a good strategy this early on.
