[The woman who appears on the screen is sitting on the floor of a forest in what is obviously a makeshift camp. The chirping of birds and the faint sounds of horses can be heard in the background. Her first message is short and simple, open to everyone (though, admittedly, there are a few who she is particularly hoping to hear from).]


I am curious;  how many of you hail from Arda? When did you see it last?

For those who do not, tell me something of your world, if you will. I have time enough for a tale or two.

Gi suilon. I am known to some of you already; for those to whom I am not, I will offer a short introduction. [She gives a little nod of her head- not a bow, but still with a slightly formal air.] I am Galadriel, formerly of Lothlórien.

I regret very much that I am not able to offer my greetings in person to those of you who have newly arrived, but, alas, circumstances necessitate my presence elsewhere.

Regardless of my absence, I would offer you- and those who have been longer in this world- use of the lembas and miruvor I received as a boon. Lembas, for those who are unaware, are Elven waybread. My supply of these is dwindling and even a little will provide nourishment for days, so I ask that you take only at need and sparingly. Miruvor is healing cordial, though it may also be used simply to renew strength. Of this I have more, but, again, do not use it needlessly. Both the lembas and the miruvor I keep in my quarters; my maid is likely to be about and able to show you to it. If not, you may contact me and I will find a way to make arrangements.

Upon my return, I will no doubt meet many of you for myself and I will be glad to offer what assistance I may, for I know well that this place may be frightening and strange, however welcoming our hosts may mean to be. Until then, keep well.

I am from London, England, but I am from Oxford originally. As much as I hate to admit, there is nothing worth noting of my own world.

It does not surprise me; I have been ignorant of the majority of places mentioned to me thus far.

[While the bread is a tempting offer, Nico is actually more inclined to the healing cordial. It might be a better solution short-term for the lack of nectar and ambrosia.]

Lady Galadriel--[so hoping he's using the right title oh gods]--I would like to know how much a drop can heal? And if there are any side-effects we should know about?

[Good guess, Nico. Though she would have been fine being addressed without the title, since she didn't offer it.]

I fear it is not so fast acting as that, child. Mayhaps I should have said simply that it promotes healing instead. This will not cure your ails, but it will give you the strength to continue until they may be tended to by a healer.

As for other effects, I know of none, save those which any liquor would provide. [Drink too much and you'll get drunk, in other words. And have Galadriel irritated with you for being wasteful.]

She knows she is supposed to respond because the lady is from Lothlórien and therefore her own world (though Arda is not a name she's especially familiar with) but it's the Lady of Lórien and she's even scarier than she imagined. Terrifying and beautiful, terrifyingly beautiful, all are true. Sigrid is feeling very, very small and insignificant at the moment.]

What is Arda? I can't say I've ever heard of it.

Arda is name most commonly used by my people to refer to our world. You may hear others speak of Middle Earth. [Not quite the same, since 'Arda' includes the Undying Lands, but close enough for her purposes.]

Hail, Galadriel of... Lothorien...? Beg pardon; but Northern tongues are clumsy. Your generosity of spirit and easy kindness are gladdening, in the presence of such strangeness.

But if you are indeed traveling abroad of the castle, I have... a request I would beg of you; and of any traveling in your company. No more than to search the faces of those you pass on the road; for my children may well be lost abroad in this fey world.

I am a mother myself; indeed, I travel now simply because I could not bear the thought of my own daughter journeying this world alone. I could not refuse this request. You need only tell me of your children and it will be done.

If you wish. [Give her a second to come up with something suitable.] There is a tree which grows in my woods- the Mallorn. Its bark is silver, but its leaves are a beautiful golden hue. When the sunlight hits the canopy of the forest just so, it almost seems as if the entire world has been gilded.
