[The woman who appears on the screen is sitting on the floor of a forest in what is obviously a makeshift camp. The chirping of birds and the faint sounds of horses can be heard in the background. Her first message is short and simple, open to everyone (though, admittedly, there are a few who she is particularly hoping to hear from).]


I am curious;  how many of you hail from Arda? When did you see it last?

For those who do not, tell me something of your world, if you will. I have time enough for a tale or two.

Gi suilon. I am known to some of you already; for those to whom I am not, I will offer a short introduction. [She gives a little nod of her head- not a bow, but still with a slightly formal air.] I am Galadriel, formerly of Lothlórien.

I regret very much that I am not able to offer my greetings in person to those of you who have newly arrived, but, alas, circumstances necessitate my presence elsewhere.

Regardless of my absence, I would offer you- and those who have been longer in this world- use of the lembas and miruvor I received as a boon. Lembas, for those who are unaware, are Elven waybread. My supply of these is dwindling and even a little will provide nourishment for days, so I ask that you take only at need and sparingly. Miruvor is healing cordial, though it may also be used simply to renew strength. Of this I have more, but, again, do not use it needlessly. Both the lembas and the miruvor I keep in my quarters; my maid is likely to be about and able to show you to it. If not, you may contact me and I will find a way to make arrangements.

Upon my return, I will no doubt meet many of you for myself and I will be glad to offer what assistance I may, for I know well that this place may be frightening and strange, however welcoming our hosts may mean to be. Until then, keep well.

Wow! ( she's starting to get the hang of this talking-through-necklaces thing; and is starting to feel like they're pretty nice. truth be told, yuzuriha has no idea what she's supposed to do here, so she's trying to focus on the positives. like, these lockets are cool. and, what a pretty lady. )

[Her enthusiasm gets a smile.] You will forgive me, I hope, if I decline to answer. The recipe is something of a guarded secret; it is rare enough that it should be offered to mortals at all.

I do, though I have not yet attempted to make it here.

Do you have the ingredients? Maybe I could help!

Oh! But I'm not saying you have to tell me the secret stuff!

[A little laugh] We shall see. Perhaps I will enlist your help upon my return. May I ask your name?

Yuzuriha Nekoi, fourteen years old! ( she smiles again, and if she's coming on a little strong it's obvious that it's sincere, without pretence. ) What's your name? It's nice to meet you!

It is a pleasure, Yuzuriha Nekoi. [The name is repeated carefully. She probably messes up the pronunciation anyway, but she is trying.] I am Galadriel.

( she's starting to notice people have trouble with her name… hmm. of course, from her perspective, galadriel is just as hard to pronounce. )

It's nice to meet you! Have you been here a long time?

[Naturally. It will get easier with time- for both of them.]

It has been a few months already; not long, no, but long enough to have gained some small understanding of this world.

[relieson]

Oh, that must be really useful! I have no idea where anything is, myself. But it's really nice, isn't it?

[inafadingcrown]

'Nice' is not the word I would use for this place. Caer Glaem is a place of beauty, to be certain, but we have, nevertheless, been placed in the midst of a war.

[relieson]

But the war will end, if we work hard, right?

[inafadingcrown]

Oh, little one. [Her face falls a little, weighted by the memory of too many wars.] I fear that warfare is rarely so simple.

[relieson]

… I know the fighting won't be. But… after we win, it will be, right?

[inafadingcrown]

[She shakes her head sadly.] I have survived many wars, child, and the aftermath is always difficult, to say the least.

[relieson]

But it'll be worth it!

[inafadingcrown]

One may hope. [But she's not entirely certain.]

[relieson]

I believe it! ( rather than blind optimism, she sounds forceful — like she's trying to convince them both. )

[Galadriel manages a slight smile] Perhaps you will make it so.
