[The woman who appears on the screen is sitting on the floor of a forest in what is obviously a makeshift camp. The chirping of birds and the faint sounds of horses can be heard in the background. Her first message is short and simple, open to everyone (though, admittedly, there are a few who she is particularly hoping to hear from).]


I am curious;  how many of you hail from Arda? When did you see it last?

For those who do not, tell me something of your world, if you will. I have time enough for a tale or two.

Gi suilon. I am known to some of you already; for those to whom I am not, I will offer a short introduction. [She gives a little nod of her head- not a bow, but still with a slightly formal air.] I am Galadriel, formerly of Lothlórien.

I regret very much that I am not able to offer my greetings in person to those of you who have newly arrived, but, alas, circumstances necessitate my presence elsewhere.

Regardless of my absence, I would offer you- and those who have been longer in this world- use of the lembas and miruvor I received as a boon. Lembas, for those who are unaware, are Elven waybread. My supply of these is dwindling and even a little will provide nourishment for days, so I ask that you take only at need and sparingly. Miruvor is healing cordial, though it may also be used simply to renew strength. Of this I have more, but, again, do not use it needlessly. Both the lembas and the miruvor I keep in my quarters; my maid is likely to be about and able to show you to it. If not, you may contact me and I will find a way to make arrangements.

Upon my return, I will no doubt meet many of you for myself and I will be glad to offer what assistance I may, for I know well that this place may be frightening and strange, however welcoming our hosts may mean to be. Until then, keep well.

[Ordinarily, she would deem this unnecessary, but she does know that he was traveling recently. And it's best he know as soon as possible.]

I do not know if you have heard, cousin, but yet another kinsman has found his way to this world.

They ride for the Station now. I do not believe they intend to return to Caer Glaem, but rather to settle elsewhere; I have no doubt that they would welcome you.

I am going forth tot he stables as well. There are those here who wish to venture there and I have agreed to travel with them. Most are human but I travel with a fellow Eldar.

My kinsman, no doubt. [Her lips thin, slightly.] There are three in the Unseelie court, to my knowledge. With whom do you travel?

I know him to be of Valinor for he spoke strangely to me. He said his name was Fëanáro.

[inafadingcrown]

My uncle, then. [Better than Celegorm, perhaps, but not entirely reassuring.] He has been civil?

[tawarwaith]

[She nods immediately.] He has been quite respectful, and it seems even fond of me.

[inafadingcrown]

[To her credit, the surprised expression leaves Galadriel's face fairly quickly.] You must have charmed him quite thoroughly.

[tawarwaith]

[She looks down, feeling embarrassed.] I do not know how that is possible. I'm not anyone of note. Certainly not a great lady such as you.

I suspect that may work in your favor; you do not present a competing claim. [Okay, no, that's not fair, Galadriel.] I will admit that he and I have never seen eye-to-eye. He may be quite pleasant when he wishes to be, I am certain.

[she still doesn't know just who he is yet, due to his quenya name.] I find it hard to believe that there would be many who are at odds with you. I do not know if I would call him pleasant. He reminds me much of my lord, kingly and stern without being cruel. He is also driven.

[Something which hasn't yet crossed Galadriel's mind. The names are too interchangeable in her head.] 'Driven' is something of an understatement. You know his history, I trust?

I cannot say that I do. I know he is of an older time and that he has a son, but I cannot say I know more beyond that.

He has- or had- seven sons. Do they no longer tell tales of the sons of Fëanor? Perhaps by now they have passed into your lore as some distant terror, no longer distinctly remembered. [She's not sure if that would be a good or bad thing, honestly.]

[Actually it does sound familiar, but only distantly so.] It is a cautionary tale, one to scare young children into the dangers of greed and the power of oaths, but what do they have to do with Fëanáro, are they related?

Forgive me, I should have realized that you would not know. Fëanáro and Fëanor are one and the same; many of us translated our names when first we came to Middle Earth and many others had their names translated in the later histories.

[tawarwaith]

[Fëanor she knew, as his sindarin name was know wise and far. His name in quenya however...]]

Oh!

[She is in shock. Give her a moment.]

Oh... What trouble have I gotten myself into now!

Less than you would imagine, I think. Unless he thinks you to a threat, I see no reason why he would harm you. [It's all about the cost benefit analysis, in this case.]

I doubt I am much of a threat to him. I've nothing of value on me nor do I wish him ill. My only desire is to reach the station and reunite with my lord Thranduil.

Then I would not worry overmuch. I would tell you only to remain alert, but I do not think that will be difficult for you. [Since you live in Mirkwood and haven't been eaten by giant spiders yet.]

[There is a small smile.] You can be certain I will remain vigilant even after we reach our destination.
