Phew...the throne room sure is a nerve-racking place, huh? I thought I was gonna have a heart attack or something...

Anyway, I had a little talk with the king...reul? He's got a really interesting name, I almost thought he was gonna be someone else. I wanted to know what they were actually fighting for here...but, uh, he's really intense, it was so hard to focus. He said something about a true end, and the seelie have something to do with it? I've been thinking about it since then this whole time...

[And pretending to be an easily intimidated teenager sure is a handy excuse to not mention anything else she was told.]

So I was wondering, anyone know what the deal with that is? Has anyone asked the Seelie monarchs something like that? I'd be interested in hearing what they have to say, especially their involvement with something so sinister sounding.

I guess I just don't wanna end up helping the bad guys by mistake.

[Not that she genuinely believes life's so easily divided into black and white, but she'll get some amusement out of it if someone tries giving the whole "good and evil are subjective" lecture to her of all people.]

Whatever Seelie response is given, it will have as much bias as Reul's response, you'll find.

[Waver's had the info dump of centuries of research given to him. He's not about to dole it all out to someone he doesn't know, but talking to someone who's got doubts? He'll happily do that.]

A number of individuals have asked. What you've said of the Unseelie is true enough from what I have heard, and have been hearing for a while.

From an associate, they heard it said that while the Unseelie have been striving to prevent the all things, and the Seelie are content to let things proceed because that is the natural order of life.

No matter the perspective though, the whole thing is abhorrent.

Prophecy says that the True End is the end of things, and then everything re-starts itself. But how true those things are, who can say.

Your court's library will only tell you so much.

The Seelie bringing about the 'true end'? First I've heard of it. But then I am a newer arrival, I suppose. Perhaps someone else in Seelie that has been around longer might have more answers if they had a chance to ask about that? Though I can't say I've met the monarchs in person myself in the throne room.

[Then again, it might not be so bad. Snow is just used to the term monarchs referring to her parents. Or Regina, who she is coming to get closer to in spite of their past.]

I must have missed if they were or are having audiences, but then I've traveled a bit since I got here so that's probably not too surprising. Still, I guess we wouldn't know unless we asked. Could be interesting to see what those who have been here longer say in answer to this. I wouldn't mind details on this, if you do get anyone replying and explaining it.

[A pause as she considers for a moment.]

Of course, that is if you aren't bound to keeping it a secret, how publicly available such information might be.

Okay then. I'm just as new so I'm not sure how much might be more restricted information and the like yet.

But of course I imagine stories from the Unseelie side are just as biased in their own way. That can't be helped, anyone recording history will be influenced by their own opinions and interpretations on what happened and why.

[Grainne has no idea what Hikaru means by "true end" but given politics, she puts it aside for the moment.]

I do not really think there is any "bad guys" here. Every conflict comes down to a difference of opinion. Who should get power. What do with it. Who someone can marry. Whether or not someone should be killed. [That last bit is slightly ever so bitter.]

It is too easy to cast an enemy in a bad light to promote a cause.
athousandcurses: (Eyebrow raise)

[personal profile] athousandcurses 2015-01-09 10:11 am (UTC)(link)
Objectively bad? I am not sure... "Bad" is a relative thing and it can change with the one you're talking to. People say a wolf is bad for taking a sheep, but he is only trying to survive. Even a kelpie who drowns his poor victims does it for a reason.

There are few things that could be considered so once you understand their is more than on the surface... cruelty for cruelty's sake, perhaps, cruelty for pleasure.

[She hesitates a little, as if she is unsure about something.]

Not everyone. People often kill for other reasons, like pride or for the person they love. ...Although I suppose if you look at animals and their mating habits, it is not so different.

What do I think of what? The war or this True End thing?

[ while everyone is super concerned with the whole it's the end and bias abounds, katherine narrows her eyes and tilts her head. king reul? king reul speaking? wasn't he just a bucket with nothing else inside? knock, knock, nobody's home! ]

[ it sounds incredibly pleasant. ]

He seems more like the silent type. [ you know, like a suit of armour with no one inside? while katherine likes morla a lot, her husband leaves a lot to be desired. ] A poor conversationalist, too.

[ while she has often fluttered in and out of audiences, lingering on the outside to eavesdrop so none particularly take an interest to her, she finds it a little intriguing to know the man who she presumed to be a suit of armour and nothing more is something. a booming voice? a tiny man wearing big shoes? ] Did he happen to move?

Might I ask if you would pass on any answers you may receive to your question? I asked something very much the same, and it seems we must have been given similar answers. I feel as if it could not have been the entire truth, and certainly the Seelie should have something very different to say for themselves...
cagedinflesh: (and I'll flourish long after you're gone)

[personal profile] cagedinflesh 2015-01-10 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
I am certain it will be very difficult to say what's true and what is not. Surely most is based in fact, yet gross exaggerations or else otherwise biased... Perhaps there may be a clue within varied wording? What exactly, or approximately did they tell you? It was the king, was it? The queen was the one to respond to me, for what ever that may be worth.
cagedinflesh: (living like a masquerade)

[personal profile] cagedinflesh 2015-01-11 06:20 am (UTC)(link)
[Yeah, a bit. Well, that mostly sounds the same as what Morla said to him, besides threatening to leave, but that sounds like something more along the lines of personal passion on the king's part. And one more thing-]

A morning star?

[Already being biased toward associating 'Unseelie' with 'evil', as much as he knows he shouldn't, yet it is everything he would normally consider to be evil, such a suspicious phrase is quick to draw a conclusion.]

As in Lucifer?
