video, open to both courts

Phew...the throne room sure is a nerve-racking place, huh? I thought I was gonna have a heart attack or something...

Anyway, I had a little talk with the king...reul? He's got a really interesting name, I almost thought he was gonna be someone else. I wanted to know what they were actually fighting for here...but, uh, he's really intense, it was so hard to focus. He said something about a true end, and the seelie have something to do with it? I've been thinking about it since then this whole time...

[And pretending to be an easily intimidated teenager sure is a handy excuse to not mention anything else she was told.]

So I was wondering, anyone know what the deal with that is? Has anyone asked the Seelie monarchs something like that? I'd be interested in hearing what they have to say, especially their involvement with something so sinister sounding.

I guess I just don't wanna end up helping the bad guys by mistake.

[Not that she genuinely believes life's so easily divided into black and white, but she'll get some amusement out of it if someone tries giving the whole "good and evil are subjective" lecture to her of all people.]

[Yeah, a bit. Well, that mostly sounds the same as what Morla said to him, besides threatening to leave, but that sounds like something more along the lines of personal passion on the king's part. And one more thing-]

A morning star?

[Already being biased toward associating 'Unseelie' with 'evil', as much as he knows he shouldn't, yet it is everything he would normally consider to be evil, such a suspicious phrase is quick to draw a conclusion.]

As in Lucifer?

[Berserker's eyes grow wide, and although he doesn't pale, he looks as if he should, or would. Neither side is 'good', so far as he can see, but has he been called to the side of the Devil? Then it would certainly be because of Hyde, all the atrocious things he's done, worthy of some sort of demon. He recalls a certain book, a religious one, and the writing that looks as if his own hand - that is his own hand - scratched into the margins, with every kind of horrible blasphemy. That Poole and Utterson saw it, took it for his doing, if what Stevenson wrote was true. That's what this is, a devil masquerading as him and dragging him down to that level.

On the other hand, he has sworn to protect and help people, even if that means becoming a monster. Maybe Jekyll really is a devil himself. Deep in thought, he brings a hand to his mouth, looking as if he might be sick, or maybe about to cry. But eventually he has to speak. Yet there is still a deep panic in his voice.]

Did he...did he say anything particularly on the subject? It may simply be a meaning, certainly such a phrase should normally be taken as rather a good thing! Or even was, in the beginning!

-He called himself the morningstar? Is that not then quite the relation? At least, one would easily be made to assume so, with such wording!

[He bites his lip hard, feeling that familiar sinking in his stomach, and pain in his head. The loss of breath that comes with the deep terror he feels for it, as something rises in his chest that he must hold back. Berserker looks away, closes his eyes only to blink, and when he opens them again, they're red. Still he doesn't look directly at Hikaru anymore, in some attempt to hide the change.]

He seems interesting. I wish I'd had the chance to speak with him. I apologise for my reaction, it's simply surprise, I'd not expected such connections. It would be quite something.

[LOOK, HE CAN TRY, OKAY]

Yes, how could it not be interesting? Ah, I guess in some ways it's a bit frightening no matter what, really, but even so. You will keep me in the loop on that subject, won't you?

[While Jekyll would rather not know, it's up to Hyde to be sure he does. If he's essentially working for Satan, it would be hilariously distressing for the other, exciting for himself.]

Then I should like all the more to speak with him. To hear what he has to say. How could anyone deny how fascinating such a thing would be? Whether or not one approves, it would be something quite amazing.

[He offers the sort of smile Jekyll would, to not be so suspicious.]
cagedinflesh: (and I know it for sure)

[Hyde bristles, to be called out so suddenly and bluntly. But oh well. It's the risk he took.]

That remains unchanged, Berserker.

[It isn't a lie, but of course not what was meant.]

Did you think you would get a name?
cagedinflesh: (and I know it for sure)

[personal profile] cagedinflesh 2015-01-24 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
[With a sigh, he slips into his own voice, deeper than Jekyll.]

There is no need to make distinctions. We are one in the same, despite anything my other half might say.

[Really, don't, the numbers sound stupid, he'd rather give his real name than listen to that.]

Now you've changed the topic.

I expect nothing, only to be told if there is something. I do not share the same spineless attitude and am only interested in knowing whether I should become loyal to the king for some reason.

[Like being the devil.]

It would give me a greater inclination. Of course, the rest is still dependant upon specifics. And I would offer my life to none.

[Don't sound like you're flirting with him, that's the worst possible thing anyone could do. But just like that, with such fine compliments, placing him above Jekyll, he accepts the conversation. Even decides she might not be so bad as she's seemed.]

Of course. That man is boring in every way, and what's more, a hypocrite. That is the reason for which I feel this way, everything he denies should be increased tenfold in me, until I cannot be denied. There is nothing worse than those who put on airs or masks, hide their true thoughts and interests for the sake of appearances, and call it morality or goodness. I would imagine one such as Lucifer would be just the opposite. Someone therefore far more admirable.
