[A very annoyed teenager is somewhere in Caer Scima. Over his right shoulder rests a sheath for a light blade, possibly a rapier. The handle isn't within view, but from the way it sits the sword is likely in there.]

These little Ainsel creeps or whatever they call themselves have been running amok for days! I don't think the leaders here have made much effort, if any, to do something about them, though! Is it this bad on both sides?! For claiming we're their guests or soldiers, they're certainly not treating us very well! I-

[Just then, a small pair of glowing red hands pop up from behind his shoulder and latch on to the sheath. Elliot nearly loses his balance before turning his head enraged.]

DON'T TOUCH THAT YOU LITTLE-!

[The locket goes dark, but from the way it was moving at the end it can be assumed that he ended the feed and let go of it to fight off the latest infected imp.]

[ Oscar almost scrolled right past this new fantastical message from another locket when he stopped.

AND THEN FLIPPED THE GD LOCKET AT THE WALL! ]

[ After a moment of heavy breathing and shocked staring at the locket, he finally scrambled for the locket, fumbling with the golden chain. ]

Oie, Elliot!

Why didn't you let an old man know you were near!

[ or just here. Aren't the kids supposed to be hip on this newfangled technology and stuff? AT LEAST WRITE HIM A LETTER.

... of course there is still the whole issue of being mortal enemies and all that but can't they let bygones be bygones? Elliot was already fast friends with Oz after all! ]

[Elliot looks just as surprised to the man who's addressing him. True, he wasn't the first person he had met before that he assumed was still alive that he'd seen here. Maybe it was the fact that whatever was behind him didn't look like it could fit in anywhere in this giant castle.

...Then again, maybe that wasn't so surprising...]

D-Duke Vessalius?! And what kind of a question is that?! How was I supposed to know you were here in the first place?!

[ he's pouting, legit, giant man tears kind of pouting. ]

But it's been so long, Elliot... [ a few days is a long time for a man like Oscar. Especially when he's been in mourning for the Nightray family this whole time! But then he sombers up and asks a serious question because that's how the Vessalius's roll. ]

Where are you, anyway? I don't recall seeing you at the banquet.

[ and if he can run into Gil and that Break lookalike, surely he would have seen Elliot being all self-righteous in the middle of the hall somewhere! ]

I doubt the Ainsel are bothering them.

[ A regular imp is clinging to her back; over her shoulder, it nods frantically. ]

And I think they probably want us to prove ourselves against them.

[Just after he's visible again, it looks like he's putting the black blade back in its sheath at his side. Thing obviously didn't end well for that particular imp.]

If that's all they want, there are better ways to go about it! Allowing guests to be attacked in your own home is unforgivable!

Then they shouldn't pretend that they're going to treat us with any honor. Clearly we're just workers to them!

[It's been over a week, and though Gilbert is no closer to finding a way out, he's at least learned a thing or two about how this world works. People from all different places and times converging on the other side of their own personal Abyss. Just what connects them all, he has no clue, and the only answer he's received so far is "because magic", which isn't an answer at all when there are no solutions to reversing it. Ever since the moment he'd arrived, all he's been able to think about is getting back to where he's still needed.

Elliot's voice is the first thing that has properly grounded him to this world since he arrived. It also reminds him of the despair that he's held quietly in his heart since his little brother had died, letting it eat away at him in the same way that everything else always has.

People spanning times and worlds or not, this is still someone whom he'd never expected to see or hear again, and it takes him a few tries before he's able to turn the damned locket on and answer him.]

[He's stunned for just a second upon getting his response. Really? Both of his (presumably) surviving brothers were here? This was a little different than seeing Vincent, though. Elliot had been able to face him as everything happened before. This was his first time seeing any of the other Nightrays since they all knew the truth.

On top of that, why hadn't any of them seen him until now? He really doubted that Vincent would have kept it quiet if he knew and he was pretty sure Gilbert spent a lot of time around that Chain since Oz Vessalius reappeared. The Seelie recruits hadn't seemed like bad people from what he had seen of them through these lockets, but he really couldn't believe that one of his brothers wasn't in the same castle as he was. Especially that coward...]

Gilbert?! Since when have you been here?!

[He can't even begin to answer the question because he barely hears it. So then, Break was taken from over a decade prior, and Elliot still looks nearly the same as the last day he'd been alive, so whatever point in time he's been drawn from, it couldn't have been long before his death. Or so says the logic in Gil's head, such as it is.

He'd told Sharon back then that he wouldn't cry because Oz hadn't yet, but now he feels himself close to weeping. But if Elliot knows, or doesn't know, what had happened back at Yura's estate, he's not about to sit here and talk with him now. This is a second chance to say the things he never got to say.

If he can find any words at all.]

I'm...ah, w-what did you say? [He finally replies with a sharp shake of his head.]

[He can that his brother is taken aback, and really he doesn't blame him. Elliot had his own concerns about what his remaining family and friends thought of him now. He'd done terrible things, and he didn't doubt that what had happened had hurt everyone to some degree. Still, if he didn't face it, nothing he had said or done in his life would mean anything.

...Only Gilbert's apparent lack of attention changes his focus pretty quickly.]

Obviously neither of us saw each other here yet! Where have you been?!

[ She thought she was alone, stuck with Elliot as he is the only person she knew. Of course Elliot wasn't bad company but... there's always a lot of yelling to do. So when Alice hears Gilbert voice, she slams her hands on the table she is sitting in front of, and yells. ]

Seaweed Head! Why didn't you tell me you were here.

[ IT WAS ONLY GOOD THE FIRST DAY WHEN THEY GAVE HER A LOT OF FOOD BUT NOW SHE'S LONELY WITHOUT OZ OR GILBERT AND THERE'S NOTHING INTERESTING TO DO. HOW DARE GILBERT BE GOOFING OFF LIKE THAT. ]

Get over here, right now!

[Aaand he nearly drops the damn thing. How could he have missed Alice so far? Surely she would have latched onto him at the feast, and she definitely wouldn't have missed a feast. Nor any dinner that came afterwards - no, the only way that they could have managed to not cross paths would mean that she's in the other court. And it only occurs to Gil as he has that thought that it must also be where Elliot is, too.]

[ Alice couldn't care less that Gilbert is in Seelie Court. To her there were only two locations: By her side and not by her side. She bites the side of her cheek, pouting into the screen angrily.

Yet despite her angry appearance her tone grows just a tiny bit softer. ]

Is Oz here? I haven't seen Oz either?

[He sounds slightly more winded on his replied, possibly from taking down yet another imp.]

Just because they're annoying doesn't mean they're too much. I'm more irritated by the lack of leadership these people are showing!

Lack of leadership? If a king makes a proclamation every time rats pop up in his land, people would accuse him of having misplaced priorities. In my opinion, it's much the same.

But this isn't just a rodent in his territory. It's an infestation trying to kill the people they claimed were so valuable. The inexperienced may not be able to handle themselves.

Vincent isn't quite ready to face his older brother just yet, so he's certain to make his response as private as he may. ]

You seem to be having some trouble. Would you care for some help?

[ Not that he's jumping up to do it or anything. From the looks of it, he must be lounging around somewhere inside the castle. ]

It shouldn't come as so much of a surprise, in a kingdom that rallies for chaos. [ A jaded shrug, at that. ] As it is, they can make for excellent target practice, and offer steep rewards.
