[A very annoyed teenager is somewhere in Caer Scima. Over his right shoulder rests a sheath for a light blade, possibly a rapier. The handle isn't within view, but from the way it sits the sword is likely in there.]
These little Ainsel creeps or whatever they call themselves have been running amok for days! I don't think the leaders here have made much effort, if any, to do something about them, though! Is it this bad on both sides?! For claiming we're their guests or soldiers, they're certainly not treating us very well! I-
[Just then, a small pair of glowing red hands pop up from behind his shoulder and latch on to the sheath. Elliot nearly loses his balance before turning his head enraged.]
DON'T TOUCH THAT YOU LITTLE-!
[The locket goes dark, but from the way it was moving at the end it can be assumed that he ended the feed and let go of it to fight off the latest infected imp.]

It shouldn't come as so much of a surprise, in a kingdom that rallies for chaos. [ A jaded shrug, at that. ] As it is, they can make for excellent target practice, and offer steep rewards.

But it's still a kingdom! They can't expect to keep existing if they let everything be chaos! If people aren't ready in the first place, then it's an assault instead of practice! And it's more irritating than rewarding for anyone who already knows what they're doing!

I would assume that fear is a reasonable substitute for good intent, and it is natural for others to fear facing the gruesome repercussions of displeasing one with power over them. In that case, it is not a matter of keeping order, but instead being aware of one's standing and paying mind to it.
[ Said simply, he shifts in his seat to get a tad more comfortable, brushing some stray hair over his shoulder. ]
Not entirely dissimilar to what you're used to, is it? This way simply is simply more-- honest, albeit through slightly less virtuous means.
[ And a pleasant smile, at that. ]

[He scowls a bit at that comparison.] These people are nothing like us! The higher up they are, the more responsibilities they have! I'm surprised they've remained in power if they haven't even realized that!

[ Quite the compliment from Vincent, really. But he knows of Elliot's strength, and his goodness - admires it. ]
Surely, they have responsibilities; you'd simply see their priorities as misplaced.

Misplaced priorities are just as bad as not having any! How are we even supposed to know what they really care about? They've hardly told us anything!
