[A very annoyed teenager is somewhere in Caer Scima. Over his right shoulder rests a sheath for a light blade, possibly a rapier. The handle isn't within view, but from the way it sits the sword is likely in there.]
These little Ainsel creeps or whatever they call themselves have been running amok for days! I don't think the leaders here have made much effort, if any, to do something about them, though! Is it this bad on both sides?! For claiming we're their guests or soldiers, they're certainly not treating us very well! I-
[Just then, a small pair of glowing red hands pop up from behind his shoulder and latch on to the sheath. Elliot nearly loses his balance before turning his head enraged.]
DON'T TOUCH THAT YOU LITTLE-!
[The locket goes dark, but from the way it was moving at the end it can be assumed that he ended the feed and let go of it to fight off the latest infected imp.]

[He catches that wince. He's not going to admit it, but he's actually a bit impressed that Gilbert hasn't broken down into a total mess yet. Not that he'd give him a hard time for that, since he does understand how much of a jerk he ended up being.]
Of course, I can manage this even if it is a pain. How bad are things in that place?

I wouldn't call it bad. [But not good either. After all, Oz is back there, and he's isolated away from everyone that he knows save for Oscar.]
But I still don't understand what we're doing here. Shards and war...

I'm not sure either. Getting answers that don't seem to be biased hasn't been easy.

[He's got better things to do! Like fret all over everyone he sees and cry about having no meaning in life now that Oz isn't here with him.]

And luckily for you, his annoyance at that isn't directed at you!]
They don't sound much better than the royalty around here. I'm not even sure how to contact them yet. You'd think they would at least have messengers.

[It's a weak statement, as he feels like a tool even suggesting it. But the fairies had led him to the castle to begin with, and even answered a few of his frantic questions in the beginning. They had to be loyal to the royalty in some way, if they were willing to help.]

Then what about those imps that brought us here? They're everywhere in this castle.

[He's assuming that they would have had the same sorts of creatures in both castles, but the term doesn't strike any sort of familiarity with him.]

[It sounds more like an apology than an excuse.]
