[ The feed opens with Hermione in the library - where else would she be? - in the Seelie court, a pile of books and papers around her. It's obvious she's been reading and taking notes, going deeper and deeper into as many of the shelves as she can (and the only place she hasn't been allowed access is the Restricted Area, which she is going to get permission for soon). After a moment of brushing her hair out of her face and forcing a slightly brighter smile she leans forward, into the 'camera'. ]

Hello, everyone. My name is Hermione Granger, for anyone I haven't met yet, and I was just wondering if you'd mind answering a few questions I have?

[ She pauses for a moment, grabbing a piece of paper with a list on it and smoothing it out. ]

I was wondering if you'd all be able to tell me about magic, or powers, or anything that might not be considered 'normal' to the average human or otherwise that exist in your worlds? Maybe magical creatures, too, or beings that you think do not transcend to other places that you've heard of. In my world, if it's alright to call them that, we have magic, magical creatures and humans, giants, werewolves, vampires... But a lot of worlds - or universes, I suppose - don't.

[ She smiles, almost sheepish, shy. ]

I hope this isn't too intrusive, I'm just curious and I'd love to learn more, if I'm able.

It's a bit more complicated than it seems, then? [ She really can't imagine it. Given what she knows of Zeus from Greek mythology he must have hundreds of children wandering around with his sort of... Powers. It's a daunting and interesting concept. ] Does that mean you end up having a lot of half-siblings, or are there some Gods that don't have too many children? It must get a little complicated.

[ She sits and thinks over it for a moment, trying to imagine the family tree this must create. ]

So even though your father was... Sort of different you're still simply brother and sister.

Yeah, she's pretty much just my sister.

[one he barely gets to see, between her hanging out with artemis' hunters and juno generally being a huge pain in the ass, but still.]

We're the only kids he has, though. That I know of, at least. Some have more than others, but the children of the Big Three -- Zeus, Poseidon and Hades [and he will grind against his instincts here and default to the greek names because saying both gets obnoxious and she picked zeus first] -- were too strong, so they made a pact not to have kids anymore.

[at least he has the decency to look sheepish on his father's behalf.]

...Obviously, my father broke that pact. Twice. Though technically, Hades is the only one that didn't break it, and we still manage to have a pair of his kids running around somehow. It's complicated.

It all sounds so... Intense. I can't imagine all of it being true, but - of course, it has to be, because you exist. It's amazing.

[ She thinks it over, leaning back in her chair. All of this is so interesting and it means a lot to her that he's going out of his way to explain it to her - more than she could probably express. ]

Did he break the pact because he couldn't, um, help himself, or because he fell in love?

[his expression retreats quickly into careful, stony indifference, only a slight tightness around his jaw giving away his agitation.]

I wouldn't know. I've never met him, and I don't remember my mother.

Oh. Oh, I - I'm sorry. [ She pauses, taking a deep breath. ] If it means anything, my parents don't remember me, so...

It's fine. It's pretty normal for demigods.

[but he's glad for the offered escape route.]

How do you forget your own kid?

It... It was a spell. I had to protect them, so I made them forget me so they wouldn't be killed.

Oh.

[oh.]

...I'm sorry.

It's alright. I think I can fix it, once I go home. I think.

Oh. Well. That's good. I hope that works out for you.

[he won't insist on absolute optimism when he doesn't know the exact situation and mechanics and likeliness of that actually working, but still.]

Me too. But - enough of that. Are, um... Are there witches in your world? Anything like what I am?

Depends on your definition of witches, I guess. Hecate is the goddess of magic, but I don't know a lot about what her children can do. A friend of mine sorta...learned from her a bit, kinda? But what she does is more like illusions.

I suppose some people would call magic illusions, though. [ She tilts her head, thinking. ] A different kind of magic to mine, but that's to be expected - it's a different source of power.

I don't really know how it all works, to be honest. What about your kind? Is it all that old-school fairytale-style magic? Wands and all that?

Just like that. Wand waving, spells, broomsticks...

Wow. I wouldn't have actually thought it'd be that...stereotypical, I guess. No offense. I'm just kinda used to the common stories being a bit off.

The stereotypes have to come from somewhere, don't they? They're not all true, I'm sure - we're not green and we don't have warts everywhere.

I can see that. Unless you're just weird by witch standards, at least.

I might be a little strange to the... Traditional standards, but I'd like to think I'm just opinionated.

What, and all the others aren't? Sounds like you'd fit in just fine with my crowd.

[god forbid you ever meet annabeth chase. the world would never survive that meeting.]

Well, I wasn't raised in the wizarding world so a lot of their customs are a little strange to me, so I react to them. I don't like some of their ideas and I voice that fact, which gets me my share of strange looks. [ She does brighten, though. ] I think I'd like to meet your friends.

Yeah, you probably would fit in pretty well. Monsters are attracted to demigods, but it doesn't get too bad until they've gotten older, so most demigods don't know what they are until they're at least ten or eleven and just grow up in the mortal world.

[he's kind of an oddball himself by those standards, what with the whole "raised by wolves" thing. but excuse him for a moment while he snoops briefly on some of the other conversations going on here.]

...And it looks like you already found Nico and Luke, so I guess you're making good progress already.

That's exactly how it is for most of us. If we're not raised in the wizarding world we find out when we turn eleven and are invited to attend Hogwarts - the magical school, I don't know if I mentioned that.

[ She nods, though, looking down at her bracelet with a fond smile. ]

I have. They seem very nice.

You have a whole school for it?

[wow. the romans aren't that far off, but all the greeks have is a dinky little summer camp.]

Yeah, they're cool. We've got one more here, Clarisse, but I, uh...wouldn't really call her "nice".

[dependable and brave and strong, sure. she's pretty much the definition of a gryffindor, really. but "nice" and "clarisse" don't belong in the same sentence.]

Yes! There are a few schools dotted around the world but Hogwarts is the one I attended.

[ She hesitates, tilting her head and pausing before she hesitates. ]

If not nice then... Friendly?
