[ the princess' face is visible for a moment, long enough for everyone to see the blood splatter across her light skin. it is very clear that the blood is not her own, but she is flawless aside from the mess. reddened lips, dark eyeliner, not a hair out of place.

her servant is fussing over her face and the conversation the two of them have cannot be heard, just seen-- the servant is busy trying to clean the princess up, make her suitable for speaking to an audience. by the time azula is able to readdress the locket, her face shows no sign of blood. ]

I am grateful for the hospitality provided, acknowledging that my status is well-respected within this... community. [ although it is clear by the tone of azula's voice that the respect is hardly mutual. ] However, I am afraid that whatever was done to bring me to this place needs to be reversed immediately. It is rude that I cannot find those truly in charge here to speak face to face, with such respect to royalty I assumed that finding those high-born would be a privilege granted to me.

I understand that my skills may be crucial to the Unseelie success, but I am in the middle of my own war and it is necessary I be returned to it.

[ her golden eyes narrow. ]

And if you cannot keep your little beasts tamed, I will not hesitate to eliminate every single one that falls in my line of vision.

[For a moment, Aubri stares at the locket. His ear tufts are up, his head cocked slightly to the side. When he speaks, his accent is obvious, with rolling consonants and hissed sibilants.]

My name is Aubri. Yes, I am a gryphon. [Because seriously everyone's asking.]

No, I do not breathe fire. Yes, I can fly. I prefer to fly. Yes, I know what humans are. No, I am not the one of my kind, though I may be in this world. Yes, I can speak. [Obviously.] And, finally, yes, the talons -- [he holds them up and, yep, pretty wicked looking] -- do make certain things difficult.

[Pause] Did I miss anything?

[ It takes little time for Thorin to realize he must learn as much as he can about these lands. If he can't leave, if he can't go back, then at the very least he ought to make sure he finds a safe place for him and the few he keeps close. He has not met many so far he would ask questions, and even the few he did ask could only tell him so much.

Library it is, then. However, this becomes a problem when, after almost an hour of looking through the castle, he can't find the place.

Not only that, but he also ends up getting lost through the corridors.

When he speaks to the locket, he is not actually asking anyone. He is asking the locket itself for directions. ]

Tell me the way to the library.

[ He frowns at the locket for the longest time, waiting for some kind of immediate response, frown deepening when it doesn't come. ]

This useless-- [ And it shuts off. ]

[ The Unseelie court's smithy has had a constant visitor since the first, one who took full advantage of his shard status to use the forge to its full potential. With enough metalwork and building, an extremely well-crafted bicycle is standing up on its own next to the furnace, with what looks like the frame of another resting against the forge. Never underestimate a SHSL mechanic. ]

It's nothin' great-- I know there was no reason makin' an engine when all I got is a forge to work with, but I wanted a project. Somethin' to take my mind offa everythin'.

[ There's a beat when he realizes not everyone here will understand just what a bicycle is. ] Some of you know what I'm talkin' about. You sit on a bike and you pedal and it's a speedy way to travel around. I thought I'd make a few 'fore setting out somewhere else.

I can let a few go. M'really only makin' 'em to keep my mind offa this entire place. Gettin' my hands on metalwork again really breathed some life into me, I tell ya...

[ He turns the locket towards him. He's still in his jumpsuit, but the sleeves are tied around his waist, leaving a very soot-covered tank top to cover his upper half. His hair is ridiculously messy, and he looks like he's been sweating quite a bit. He flashes a half-hearted grin, bearing his sharp teeth. ]

So tell me if ya got any requests! Challenge me!

[ The feed opens with Hermione in the library - where else would she be? - in the Seelie court, a pile of books and papers around her. It's obvious she's been reading and taking notes, going deeper and deeper into as many of the shelves as she can (and the only place she hasn't been allowed access is the Restricted Area, which she is going to get permission for soon). After a moment of brushing her hair out of her face and forcing a slightly brighter smile she leans forward, into the 'camera'. ]

Hello, everyone. My name is Hermione Granger, for anyone I haven't met yet, and I was just wondering if you'd mind answering a few questions I have?

[ She pauses for a moment, grabbing a piece of paper with a list on it and smoothing it out. ]

I was wondering if you'd all be able to tell me about magic, or powers, or anything that might not be considered 'normal' to the average human or otherwise that exist in your worlds? Maybe magical creatures, too, or beings that you think do not transcend to other places that you've heard of. In my world, if it's alright to call them that, we have magic, magical creatures and humans, giants, werewolves, vampires... But a lot of worlds - or universes, I suppose - don't.

[ She smiles, almost sheepish, shy. ]

I hope this isn't too intrusive, I'm just curious and I'd love to learn more, if I'm able.

[Today, Usagi is broadcasting from her suite. The pro's of being the Moon Princess, as it happens, is that her suite is so much more fancy than her bedroom. There's a shot of beautifully embroided pillows, then an elaborate ornate ceiling and then finally, Usagi, trying to comb her her fingers through her hair hastily.

She's grinning from ear to ear, albeit a little nervously. ]
Hi, everyone! Uhm - I was wondering, would anyone like to come to the station with me?

[New places, she doesn't wanna go herself. ] Minako - you'll come, right? Anybody else is welcome too! I wanna see what it's like!

[After a few moments of shifting around, the locket reveals a round faced young woman with dark hair. She observes the feed with a rather amused expression, clearly still getting used to communicating by locket, before speaking.]

Well. Giant worms. What an introduction. Though perhaps as an introduction to a war, it's rather fitting. Though it got me thinking.

Has anyone been in a battle before? Like an actual proper war with battle plans and troops and all that sort of thing? Not asking for a CV, as I know we're a land divided, but just a poll to start to figure out what sorts were recruited.

I mean you'd think, even with shards and all, they'd try to get people who have a bit of experience at this sort of thing. It's not like we just stumbled in here. Because that's about as far as I've gone with war. Defending a Theme Park from robots on an alien planet and winning by a bit of my clever strategy and mostly pure luck.

[She shrugs and tosses her hair behind her back. Even if the words she used are just strange, she her tone implies that it's little more than commenting what she did last week. And it was. She figures there's little point to secrets in a place like this. She continues briskly, sounding both thoughtful and businesslike.]

Suppose faeries work in mysteries ways. Never met a fairy before. Was half convinced they were aliens too. You'd be surprised about the things that are supposed to be mythical but really just end up being alien. A few ghosts, the Loch Ness monster.

Anyway, faeries and war. Any information on that would be brilliant as I've got to get my bearings if I'm going to stay here and help out as I don't think a literature degree is going to do much for anyone. Unless the giant worms have a fondness for Dickens.

So, we've been here long enough to get settled in and be faced with mortal peril. I have to say, being almost eaten and half-terrified really does knock you out at night.

Let's talk transport - who's found something better than horses? I'm talking magic portals. I'll take a bicycle if one's going.
