[ The feed opens with Hermione in the library - where else would she be? - in the Seelie court, a pile of books and papers around her. It's obvious she's been reading and taking notes, going deeper and deeper into as many of the shelves as she can (and the only place she hasn't been allowed access is the Restricted Area, which she is going to get permission for soon). After a moment of brushing her hair out of her face and forcing a slightly brighter smile she leans forward, into the 'camera'. ]

Hello, everyone. My name is Hermione Granger, for anyone I haven't met yet, and I was just wondering if you'd mind answering a few questions I have?

[ She pauses for a moment, grabbing a piece of paper with a list on it and smoothing it out. ]

I was wondering if you'd all be able to tell me about magic, or powers, or anything that might not be considered 'normal' to the average human or otherwise that exist in your worlds? Maybe magical creatures, too, or beings that you think do not transcend to other places that you've heard of. In my world, if it's alright to call them that, we have magic, magical creatures and humans, giants, werewolves, vampires... But a lot of worlds - or universes, I suppose - don't.

[ She smiles, almost sheepish, shy. ]

I hope this isn't too intrusive, I'm just curious and I'd love to learn more, if I'm able.

Not too long ago, where I'm from — NYC, that is, in, uh, 2012 — there was this guy who called himself Spider-Man. [ he holds out a hand, splaying it like this is some groundbreaking stuff. ] Wore a mask, could stick to walls, and swung from webs like a spider. And he saved the city from a man-lizard hybrid. He actually keeps saving the city. All the time, now.

[ does that sound as crazy out loud as it does in his head? probably. ]

But everyone thinks that they were both the result of genetic experiments, not something like magic, anyway. [ something decidedly not real! well... ] In fact, they found the serum that gave the lizard guy powers. Turns out he wanted to expose everyone to it, so we could "evolve" or something. Crazy stuff. I mean, New York's weird, but it's never been that weird before, y'know?

It is a bit of a whiplash, isn't it? [ She shakes her head. ] I wonder what it's like outside the castle - I haven't really had a chance to explore.

So would that mean that children of Zeus would be your half-siblings? Or is it a little more complicated than I'm making it out to be?

[ She really is interested in learning and she doesn't want to be too presumptuous. ]

What do you think of this place, then? With the faeries and more?

It's good we met, you're right. I'm sure that Merlin would be glad to know some more of his friends are around.

[ She lifts her eyebrow, almost teasing. ]

Hermione.

So it's a little bit like magic in my world, then? It's seen as something mythical, that we don't believe in, unless you have it - then when you find out it's like everything suddenly makes sense to you, like your eyes have been opened.

[ She nods, looking particularly interested in this world. It's almost a parallel of her own, in a way. ]

My magic is kind of difficult to explain. There's a spell for almost anything you can imagine, but we're limited by the laws of physics and creation. We can't just make something out of nothing, for example.

Something like that, yes. Something that's inside of you?

Wouldn't that be "power?" Or a sixth sense, maybe… Or do you mean spells, like onmyodo?

It makes sense. Everyone has interests they're drawn towards, even if they're not magical. It's what you enjoy or find meaningful, so it's almost natural to continue learning about it. That's what I felt about learning Ancient Runes.

Usually if someone has the same godly parent as you, they're half-siblings, but that's just because the gods tend to have flings with lots of humans. The Greek and Romans haven't usually interacted in a friendly way before, though, so I don't think most people have thought too much about what the children of the same god under a different name are to them.

[maybe once the whole threat of a greek/roman war is over, they can actually address these things. though gods know they don't need to make family matters in this pantheon any more complicated.]

My friend has a sister from the opposite side, but they treat each more like real siblings than most of the demigods of the same parent I've seen, so it's not really a typical example. And Zeus does have a daughter on the Greek side, but we have the same mother too so we're full siblings either way.

Weird... Um, stuff. Like what? Do you have any examples?

[ c'mon, hermione. you can swear. your parents aren't here to tell you no. ]

Weeeeell, liiiike, my mom could see into the future, which was all kinds of hellaciously awesome. And sometimes when she'd get followed by paparazzi and shit, she'd black out their cameras so they couldn't take pictures of her.

So the ideas of 'good' and 'bad' magic are less prevalent and it's more emotional? So 'dark' magic is created from the hearts of people with a lot of negative emotion, say envy or anger, and the magic that people might call 'good' comes from the hearts of people who feel things like love, joy... That sort of thing. Hope, as well, I suppose?

So it's from realms that should be ignored, or no visited, and a lot of the people that do learn about it, or go to these worlds, aren't taken there because they want to go. [ She pauses, considering it, lips pursing for a moment. ] That's fascinating.

I've got my broom, so I'm planning to have a bit of a fly around to see what there is to see.

Which reminds me, what's it like in your castle? Is everyone reasonable?

Spells are what're common to me - something that's inside of you, the magic, which is controlled and commanded using particular words that create certain spells.

Of course you have your broom. Why wouldn't you?

[ She almost rolls her eyes. Almost. Boys and their toys. ]

Most of them are nice, really. We have a lot of the same ideals, I imagine, given we were placed here.

[ no she is a good girl :c ]

That sounds like magic, and... Divination. [ Her nose wrinkles a little at that. Pfft. Divination. ]

[ so is roxy!! she just likes colorful vocabulary... ]

You got somethin against divination?

[ wanna fight about it??? ]

[ It's not a toy! It's a very useful item. That goes very, very fast and he loves it madly. ]

That's good. It really is.

[ He'd been a bit worried that the Seelie castle was rather a lot like the Unseelie and he's pretty sure that Hermione would not be happy here. Not at all. ]

I just don't think it's a very solid subject, that's all.

[Mild:] Er - some want it...! There was...

A man. Named Pious Augustus. He was a soldier in the time of the Romans. He claimed the essence of one of the Ancients for it's power - and he was corrupted. Bound to its service for the next two thousand years.

But the essence was destroyed, and he was killed. Due to the intervention of -- another, of the Ancients. And we... were not involved because we planned to be. Correct.

[He's skipping a bit of background but alas.]

I've made a few friends and Ginny's here - oh! And the King and Queen brought Crookshanks here for me, so I have him to keep me company.

[ She pauses, her hand twitching a little before she breathes out. ]

I've missed you, though. A lot.

I've barely been here, but it's mutual.

[ The missing, that is. ]

Although, if I ever get lonely, I've met someone here that's frighteningly like Draco. Do you think that we all have alternate versions of ourselves on different worlds?

It's a bit more complicated than it seems, then? [ She really can't imagine it. Given what she knows of Zeus from Greek mythology he must have hundreds of children wandering around with his sort of... Powers. It's a daunting and interesting concept. ] Does that mean you end up having a lot of half-siblings, or are there some Gods that don't have too many children? It must get a little complicated.

[ She sits and thinks over it for a moment, trying to imagine the family tree this must create. ]

So even though your father was... Sort of different you're still simply brother and sister.
