[the lockets show the blond king sitting in a library somewhere, a book open in front of him with another stack beside it. the background is still in disarray, repair and clean-up efforts having been prioritized elsewhere, but clearly, he didn't feel like waiting for them to tidy up here.]

Now that all the fuss has settled down some, there's something I'd wanted to ask you all.

[he aims his own locket down at the books in front of him for a moment, and on the open pages are a whole lot of text and an illustration of what looks like a set of fangs. the stack look to mostly be on similar topics, though a perceptive viewer might notice one or two including the word "cothromach" in their titles. the view is angled back up before he speaks again, and though his smile is polite, his golden eyes have a certain piecing quality even through the lavender-tinted glasses he hides them behind.]

What do you know about vampir? There's certainly a good amount of information to be found in books, but I'd like to know what's considered common knowledge, or what others might have heard. There's a task I've been given by the monarchs, you see, and I'd rather go into it as well-informed as possible.

And if there's anyone who's explored the area just east of Caer Glaem, I'd be interested in speaking with you.

[ The video shows a young woman, her face framed by slightly wavy hair the color of rich soil. Unseen is the weight of many centuries that lie upon her strong shoulders, and would make her ancient rather than young in the eyes of some.

Her large, hazel eyes are sharp as those of a bird of prey as she fixes them upon her locket.
]

I am Lady Sif of Asgard, my allegiance is to my king and my home, and much as the rulers of this court seem to wish it, that will not change simply because they imagine themselves to have some manner of claim on me.

Do not think me craven, I have no fear of battle, but I will not seek it out merely because a stranger tells me that it is my duty.

So I put the question to you now, my fellow recruits: Why do you fight?

[the new face that appears over the lockets is strikingly pretty, with a sweet smile and all pale gold coloring that's probably reminiscent of some fairy tales. it's certainly pretty enough to be female, but the timbre of his voice is just such that it might call that into question for anyone actually paying attention.]

The rulers here are rather generous, aren't they? I can't claim to be alright with what basically comes down to kidnapping, but they certainly know how to soften the blow.

[there's a likable good-humor in his voice at that, and he spins the locket idly to show off his current living situation -- a king's suite.]

Are all quarters here really so nice? It's hard to believe enough wealth could exist anywhere, even in a place like this.

[he knows, of course, through a bit of magic-locket-network stalking and some eavesdropping, how the rooming situations here work. but it's an easy way to establish his station without having to give up that affable air he likes to affect, and a decent way to lure out anyone eager to explain things to a poor, confused newcomer. those are the sort of people he likes, after all, and some of the most useful.]

But then, who knows what the magic here is capable of? New worlds are sure to come with all new rules of their own, and I have to admit, I don't know exactly how this one works. [yet.] There are people who have been here for some time now, correct? I'd be extremely grateful if anyone who's had the time to learn such things could help me to better understand just what sort of place we're in.

((The first part of this post is Jack's personal record of his stay at the Unseelie Court. The second bit is action, and anyone near Loch Noa, north of the Station, can encounter Jack. Responses to his locket exclamation in the very last section of this post are also welcome.))

A bottle-log, first off. Scrawled neatly. Increasingly desperate. Not viewable to the public, just here for its OOC edification. )

[Thus, Captain Jack Sparrow sets off to shoot the Hedley Kow.

Outside the castle, he approaches it where it passive-aggressively chews a turnip. It moos in a low, coaxing sort of way. It is a come-hither moo, but Jack is not charmed. He aims and pulls the trigger, but at that moment, the pistol vanishes.]

BUGGER!

[The beast moos again, and now his hat -- his HAT! -- takes itself from off his head and vanishes as well! Jack is left speechless as, with a final mocking moo, the Kow itself disappears.

No....no, that's not right. The Kow did not disappear. Somehow, Jack realizes, he has disappeared and reappeared Someplace Else. There is a great dark lake before him, dark even under the sun. Trees whisper in the wind. No one else appears to be near. Welcome to Loch Noa, Captain Jack Sparrow. He opens his locket, shakes it, and bellows:]

Alright. Enough of the pomp and circumstance already. I just got back to Storybrooke and got the chance to rest, and I don’t really appreciate being tricked - ( Yeah, not asked nicely, not coerced, she’s going to call it ‘tricked’, no matter what it really was… ) - into following some -- glowing... pixie to a fairy world I’ve never even heard of! I think Blue or Tink might have mentioned a world made up of nothing but fairies, if it existed. I don’t care if you think I’m royalty, I don’t care how much fancy food you throw at me. I just want to go home. We just got back... I - ( She heaves a really annoyed sigh. ) Look. I went to the feast. I entertained the locals. Chances are I entertained a few of my fellow travelers, who, by the way, are probably feeling about the same way. So, do I get early exit privileges? I am a princess, after all. Shouldn't being royalty come with a special clause?
