[with many trial and errors, jean finally managed to figure out how people video record on this thing!!! not that he even knows what a video is other than people actually moving on this... this fancy looking locket. but whatever, the point is that he finally managed to get it figured out!

well sort of. okay so he still might need to work out a few kinks when it comes to using this thing. but he got this for the moment! or at least he thinks he does. anyway- the video starts off by being to close to his beautiful face. he looks at it curiously before murmuring quietly to himself. he then adjusts the space between himself and the locket a few moments afterwards and finally comes up with something decent.] This is stupid. [sigh!!]

Alright, I've got a question I want to ask but never really got to ask when I first got here. Thank you Titan Worms. [ssssssuuuuure someone might have mentioned it's actual name to him, but ehhh. this worked out just fine.] But anyway, I was kind of curious to know if anyone knew anybody that was brought here but is dead in your own world? [he pauses.]

Like, I've got this friend who's here, and he died in my world. But.... It's like he doesn't even remember dying in the battle we were fighting in. He remembers fighting in it, but he doesn't remember fighting a Titan by himself. Anyway, I was wondering if something like that happened to anyone else that's here. [he backpedals a little, because oh yeah. marco can probably see this shit.] I mean- it's not that I don't mind that he's alive here! Like I said before, he was one of my best friends back home, and I'm sure we'll be able to slip back in to how things used to be between us. But.... I don't know. [he grumbles quietly as he runs his free hand down his face.]

Is this sort of thing normal here?

[ Congratulations, Jean, it's your face that actually gets Eren to care about using the locket long enough to say anything over it. Which he does, rudely, by not even allowing him to finish; it's only a few words in before Eren interrupts. ]

[it's sort of almost a-- oh who are we kidding. it's totally a reflex on how jean handles every time eren interrupts him. in fact he might have attempted to snap at other people who wasn't the irritable brunette. boy was that the weirdest wake up call! anyway-]

[double takes at the screen!] EREN!? When the hell did you get here! I've been here, you're the one who's late.

More importantly way to show up oh so conveniently after we take care of those titan worms. Could have used your help slicing and dicing those things up. As much as it pains me to say it. [eren's overall safety though, is on the back burner of his mind right now.]

[ Not even a minute into conversation and Jean's already being insufferable, as usual. Eren clenches his jaw, but he's trying to keep an even temper. For now. ]

How 'bout you quit being a total asshole and start taking this seriously? [ a beat. ] I've been here for almost a month—where have you been?

[it's never a dull moment with these two! also good luck with that eren.]

How about you take this seriously, Yeager. I've been here the whole damn time! Fighting giant Titan worms with everyone else here! Where the hell were you when they breached the castle grounds, huh?!

[ His scowl grows deeper, a little in confusion and some in thought. ]

Doing the same damn thing you were. [ Dealing with worms, among other things. What doesn't add up, however, is that they've somehow managed to completely miss each other this whole time. Something doesn't seem right. ] So are you gonna tell me where you are, or keep yapping on like a moron?

Is that so? Why didn't we run into each other then? I ran into Marco and everyone else more than I could count. [he frowns.] I think they call it Caer Glaem? I'm in the only fucking castle with everyone else Yeager. It's not that hard to figure out.

[ ... Marco?

Okay, he might have misheard that—definitely had to mishear that, and Eren's not going to risk sounding like an insensitive idiot by asking to clarify. On his end, he lightly taps at the edge of the locket (likely jerking all the visuals around on Jean's end) as if it will get the thing working clearly again, and presses on to the more important matters. ]

... Caer Glaem? [ He echoes, still as puzzled as before—but he feels as if he recognizes that name. Eren doesn't have the whole map memorized, but... ] I don't think we're in the same area.

[you most definitely heard him correctly eren!!! and if you actually listened and not cut him off for once in your life you would have figured that out much sooner. but alas!!! jean squints at his locket for a minute as he tries to figure out what the hell eren is doing. he quirks a brow at the sudden pause.]

Hah? Then where the hell- [realization dawns upon him. if he's not here with him and the others... then...] You're not.... fighting in the Unseelie courts, are you? Please tell me this is just a sick joke, Eren.

[andallbite]

[ Well, that answered that. Eren gives the locket a flat, unamused stare. ]

No, it's not. [ Frank and to the point. ] I'm up in Caer Scima. Mikasa's been with me, too.

[renewedwill]

[and now jean can feel a pit forming in his stomach. first marco and now this. he can never catch a damn break here, can he? and in the back of his mind he has a feeling that reiner and bertolt are somehow behind this. why else would he be fighting on that side? fighting against him and the others. but then there's mikasa. nothing makes sense anymore.]

They didn't... you're not--

... Don't start freaking out on me, Jean.

[ He gets what this means—that they're on two different ends of this "war". However: ]

You think anyone's really going to fight for these guys just 'cause they want us to? Everyone's against it.

[renewedwill]

[he frowns.] Hey shut up! I'm just making sure that what me and the others did wasn't for nothing, you jerk! [he took a titan to his horse man! a titan to his horse! and you know what that horse did? bucked him right the fuck off. that's what happened!!!]

Yeah? People over here have mixed feelings about fighting for the Seelie court. [but how does he casually bring up to eren that he might be one of those guys that's okay with fighting for the seelie? hmmm.]

[ His eyes squint, in that "I don't get it" manner. Did what? Jean, you are one confusing, annoying craphead and it's grating on his nerves. ]

Who wouldn't? We don't belong in this war. There's gotta be a way back home and we have to find it.

[you can shove it eren!!!! jean's lips thin a little as he looks down at his locket. if you caught him before all this crap happened back home then he would have been right along with eren. not giving a shit. but now? he's not so sure he can bring himself to turn a blind eye on all of this.] I don't know Eren, unless you suddenly know how to use magic I have a feeling we aren't going to get anywhere.

I don't want to be here either, believe me. But I can't just stand by and watch people get hurt here either. They need us. I thought the thing with the Titan Worms was a good enough example of that too.

[ He sounds offended. Really offended, mixed right in with the blatant shock. Is he seriously hearing this? ]

Are you out of your mind? Humanity's on the brink of extinction back home and you're worried about a bunch of fucking worms? They can deal with them on their own!

[only bad things can come from here on out.] I didn't say I was worried, dammit! But in case you didn't fucking notice, I used up everything I had on those damn things! And how the hell do you plan on getting home anyway, Eren?!

Threatening people with magic is just as stupid as picking a fight with those traitors back home. You shouldn't have to worry about this because you can just re-grow your limbs back. But what about the rest of us?! What if they do something to us in retaliation for finding our way back home. I'd rather go back home in one piece than to go back home in multiple pieces. What help am I going to be for humanity if my arm bone is connected to my leg bone?!

[ There's a pause. It doesn't last very long, but it's clear on his face there's a lot that runs through his mind in that very moment. When Eren finally responds, his tone is low and rough. ]

Jean, next time I see you– [ If he ever does; they weren't close by any means, and who knows where events could lead them. ] –I'm going to beat the shit out of you.

[excuse!!! HE'S HAD TO DRESS UP AS YOU ONCE. (and then again in his future, but shhhh don't tell him that.) HE CONSIDERS THAT CLOSE AS CLOSE CAN GET.] Haaaaah?! If anybody gets to beat anyone up it should be me! I should get to beat the shit out of you! For letting those assholes take you. Honestly Eren, you're going to get yourself into more trouble than you already have if you keep this up!

[ He pauses. And... squints... Not that any of his anger's subsided, but that was nonsensical enough to throw him in for a loop. ]

I didn't let anyone take me. [ Is... Jean talking about the imps??? ] 'Sides, you got any room to talk about getting taken when I'm here talking to you?

[ Pot meet kettle or something??? ¿? ]

I wasn't talking about this place, Eren. And yeah, you did. How could you not remember that fight you had? [not that he was there for that. but he was at least brought up to speed about what happened when he wasn't there.]

How the hell do you not know what I'm talking about Yeager?! You were fighting the Armored titan [because he doesn't feel that reiner deserves to be called by his actual name anymore] and then the Colossal titan [same with bertolt, to be honest.] ended up... eating you or something. Turns out you didn't get eaten though.
