[with many trial and errors, jean finally managed to figure out how people video record on this thing!!! not that he even knows what a video is other than people actually moving on this... this fancy looking locket. but whatever, the point is that he finally managed to get it figured out!

well sort of. okay so he still might need to work out a few kinks when it comes to using this thing. but he got this for the moment! or at least he thinks he does. anyway- the video starts off by being to close to his beautiful face. he looks at it curiously before murmuring quietly to himself. he then adjusts the space between himself and the locket a few moments afterwards and finally comes up with something decent.] This is stupid. [sigh!!]

Alright, I've got a question I want to ask but never really got to ask when I first got here. Thank you Titan Worms. [ssssssuuuuure someone might have mentioned it's actual name to him, but ehhh. this worked out just fine.] But anyway, I was kind of curious to know if anyone knew anybody that was brought here but is dead in your own world? [he pauses.]

Like, I've got this friend who's here, and he died in my world. But.... It's like he doesn't even remember dying in the battle we were fighting in. He remembers fighting in it, but he doesn't remember fighting a Titan by himself. Anyway, I was wondering if something like that happened to anyone else that's here. [he backpedals a little, because oh yeah. marco can probably see this shit.] I mean- it's not that I don't mind that he's alive here! Like I said before, he was one of my best friends back home, and I'm sure we'll be able to slip back in to how things used to be between us. But.... I don't know. [he grumbles quietly as he runs his free hand down his face.]

Is this sort of thing normal here?

[he looks down and rubs the back of his neck.] Well, he knows now. I kind of told him that he was dead when I saw him a t the feast. But I don't think he knew beforehand.

Are you dead?

Me? No. Or at least I don't think I am. I got bucked off my horse pretty bad when I was brought here, but if anything I think I just got a concussion out of it.

I don't know what's normal here, but in the Spirit World it was normal to see people who had passed on.

[ korra was pretty convinced this place wasn't the spirit world—not the kind from home, anyway—but this question puts her convictions at a tilt... ]

Yeah, I know someone like that.

So it's just your one friend. And he doesn't remember.
Is there anyone else from your world here?

[he nods.] Yup, you'd be correct in that. And I think so? I haven't seen anyone else I know from home here. Unless they're helping the other side out. [and he knows a couple traitor faces who would do that!] But I don't think there's a way to check that out.

Unless there is.

Spirit.... World? So you mean like.... Heaven, or whatever? [he quirks a brow in confusion. THIS IS GONNA GET SO COMPLICATED SO FAST.]

Are they here as well?

He's here, but... what's heaven?

No one's found one. Not that I've heard, unless they found a way out and left without telling anyone.

I met someone who was dead where we came from. He knew about it, though.

[out of consideration for luke's situation, he won't be very specific. but it probably wouldn't be too hard for someone to guess who the dead guy is. there aren't a ton of demigods here, and they've been largely sticking together so far.]

My brother is here, whose body I buried some eighty years or more ago. Yet he stands before me unmarred and brilliant, without the scars that I recall. And he, too, recalls nothing of the years that which led him to his death. Time, for him, seems paused a great distance away from where mine breaks.

By all accounts I would be counted as dead to those of my world.

Figures. Well we'll find out who we're fighting eventually, yeah? You can't really hide your face in war. [he pauses.] Though it would be easier to know who it is that we're fighting so we can avoid traitors and double agents.

And does he know that he's.... well.... [dead? he pauses though, and looks down at the girl on his locket strangely.]

Isn't that-- you said spirits so I thought that's what you were.... talking about?

Even still I bet that's hard to deal with too. Being dead back home, but.... well alive here. I don't have a choice fighting this war for them, but... Wouldn't you think the dead or people close to dying would?

[ just the most confused of looks for a second. ]

... I've never heard of Heaven, but the Spirit World is where the spirits used to reside., spirits of animals, the land... things like that.

[ she grins a little, hoping that they're reaching some sort of understanding!! different names for the same thing??? ]

Is that what your Heaven is like?

[one day he will discover how to respond to people in private! today is.... not one of those days.]

Really? The same thing happened to me with my friend too! [he pauses] But I guess you... knew that from this.... whatever it is. But.... eighty years? Dang I'd be lucky to make it to that doing what I'm doing. I bet that must be confusing in it of itself though. That you look different from what he last saw of you eighty years ago.

I can't really imagine what it's like being dead and then alive again, but isn't it sort of good in a way? Not the war part, but...well, a guy I was talking to here called it a second chance.

Really? Were you taken before you died, or right as you were, or--?

Well... yeah I guess so? A part of me is pretty pumped to have my friend back again, but, another part of me isn't. This is a war, death and people dying in it are pretty common. And I just... I don't want him to have to go through that again. I don't even know if I can go through it myself again either. [he frowns.]

I didn't really take his death all that well back home. I'd like to think he wouldn't die again in this place, but... sometimes you just have to be realistic about these things too.
