[with many trial and errors, jean finally managed to figure out how people video record on this thing!!! not that he even knows what a video is other than people actually moving on this... this fancy looking locket. but whatever, the point is that he finally managed to get it figured out!

well sort of. okay so he still might need to work out a few kinks when it comes to using this thing. but he got this for the moment! or at least he thinks he does. anyway- the video starts off by being to close to his beautiful face. he looks at it curiously before murmuring quietly to himself. he then adjusts the space between himself and the locket a few moments afterwards and finally comes up with something decent.] This is stupid. [sigh!!]

Alright, I've got a question I want to ask but never really got to ask when I first got here. Thank you Titan Worms. [ssssssuuuuure someone might have mentioned it's actual name to him, but ehhh. this worked out just fine.] But anyway, I was kind of curious to know if anyone knew anybody that was brought here but is dead in your own world? [he pauses.]

Like, I've got this friend who's here, and he died in my world. But.... It's like he doesn't even remember dying in the battle we were fighting in. He remembers fighting in it, but he doesn't remember fighting a Titan by himself. Anyway, I was wondering if something like that happened to anyone else that's here. [he backpedals a little, because oh yeah. marco can probably see this shit.] I mean- it's not that I don't mind that he's alive here! Like I said before, he was one of my best friends back home, and I'm sure we'll be able to slip back in to how things used to be between us. But.... I don't know. [he grumbles quietly as he runs his free hand down his face.]

Is this sort of thing normal here?

No I'm asking if it is a normal thing here! But at the same time I don't know how everyone's worlds work back home. [it's okay mako. jean doesn't know it either.]

Well that's at least one world checked off. I don't know how many more to go through.

[ mako stifles a second sigh, trying to push away his impulse to argue and just... get something done here. ]

I haven't heard anything about worm fatalities apart from the civilians those first few days, sorry.

As for worlds... There's a lot, I think.[ as many as there are stars in the sky, roxas had said... ] There's a kid — name's Roxas — he said he's been to a bunch of other worlds before. You could try hitting him up.

[jean looks down at his locket in confusion.] Well, yeah I kinda figured that there were other worlds out here after arriving in this place? It kind of seemed obvious when people were mentioning what their homes were like. [that and the lack of titan presence in most of them also did the trick!!]

But I'll keep an eye out for this... ah.... Roxas then? [he might have totally butchered that name up. whoopsie.] Do you know what he looks like? It seems kind of silly to use this thing just to signal a person out. [he looks down at his locket.]

He's kinda short. [ to mako, at least. ] Blue eyes, yellow hair that sticks up like he put his finger in an electrical socket. Maybe fourteen, fifteen years old? He was wearing a sketchy black trench coat, when I talked to him.

Uh.... okay, I'm sorry, but, what in the heck is an electrical socket? And why would touching it do something to his hair?

I wouldn't do that anyways. That sounds stupid and whoever's stupid enough to do it probably deserves it. It's like trying to poke a Titan in the eye without any gear on. [how they even got that high enough to poke it is a different question completely!!]

And -- wh- your... your hand is on fire! [his eyes widen a little in alarm, but hey. the guy isn't crying or screaming out in pain so he either must be a masochist or it just doesn't hurt him.] So that's.... that's firebending or whatever, huh? I guess that makes sense.

[ what the fuck's a titan? (he doesn't validate that lik of thought, though, because the whole finger in the socket to lightningbend? totally an urban legend the triad dicks will tell the firebender kids as jokes. he's seen it happen.)

mako shrugs and idly lets the fire sit on his fingers for a few seconds longer, before (yes, intending to show off) he physically tosses it to his other hand... and then blows a curling little dart of flame out of his mouth, relighting his hand as he catches it. ]

Yup. Firebending.

Man that's pretty cool. [he pauses as he looks up.] You said learning it was hard, so- how'd you get this good at it?

It's the lightning that's hard. This is basic stuff every firebender can do, even little kids.

So you have to be an actual firebender in order to bend....fire? [this made sense now that he thought about it, yup. so it kind of sounds a little stupid when it leaves his mouth.]

[ nods! ]

If a kid doesn't start by the time they're three or four... [ he shrugs ] Then they're most likely a nonbender.

That's pretty cool. Can you learn anything else? Or are you just stuck to bending fire and.... lightening?

Yeah, 'cause that's my element.

What kind of elements are there? [he thought he had a feeling, but the minute lighting was brought up, well. he sort of had no idea what to expect.] And I'm guessing you can only belong to one

Fire, air, water, and earth. One for each season, you know?

[he fails to see how those can represent the seasons, but he'll just leave it at that.] So if bending lightening is part of firebending, what do the other elements get? Snowbending?

[ mako frowns ] Snow and ice is a part of regular waterbending. Their specialty is healing, usually. [ we're not gonna talk about blood bending. ] And really good earthbenders can bend certain kinds of metal. There's not enough airbenders for them to have a subset, I don't think. And the flying probably cancels it out.

Oh... well that's still cool. But when you say healing you mean like... the power to heal all wounds? [man this bending sounds nicer and nicer the more he thinks about it!!!]

Wait. People can actually fly?! [yup. he's definitely digging this bending thing!]

Depends on the healer. Cuts, bruises, and burns are usually fair game, I think, but it takes a really good one to fix bones. [ doesn't sound like they can regrow stuff, either. ]

Glide, technically.

[he rubs the back of his neck with his free hand.] Either way that's pretty cool. And you said that you're born with this power, right?

Were your parents benders? Or does it like... I don't know, skip a generation, or--?
