--hmph, thought as much. "Say a phrase and the magic will work", hm? Ridiculous. Who ever heard of speaking over distances with a locket.. Not even Legolas with all his fanciful Elven stories would have come up with something so foolish.

[More tapping and poking can be heard]

There’s nothing special about this at all. No gems, not even made of precious metals...and those creatures expect me to believe their stories? [A snort] I’d sooner believe there’s a man in Rohan afraid of horses! [He pauses, and then scoffs] Bah, listen to me, talking to myself. Legolas must be rubbing off on me more than I thought!

Why, do they all talk to themselves? Are they all that strange?

In my opinion? Yes.

[ Well, he's in good company for being confused because Alice is just as confused. ]

There are so many of them here aside from Mr. Legolas!

And I've no doubt they're all a bit odd. It's part of being an Elf, y'see.

What else do they do aside from talking to themselves?

Well, Legolas talks to trees. Occasionally they even talk back!

[And sometimes they're Ents. Gimli does not like Ents]

Horses, too, and birds. I've never heard either of them talk back to him, however.

... They talk back? [ That sounds like something out of Wonderland, almost inconceivable. Should she be surprised by this? No. ] How do they talk back if they have no mouths?

I knew an elf who told me he was able to speak to horses and animals. Perhaps they can talk back, but trees? That sounds absurd!

Aye, it is, but these trees do! It is only in one forest, mind you, but the Ents of Fangorn are capable of speech.

Do they have mouths, then? What is an "Ent"?

They do, from what I could tell. As to what an Ent is, Legolas would be the one to ask.

Then what of Mr. Maglor or Miss Galadriel?

I do not know Master Maglor, but Lady Galadriel might know.

You don't? They're cousins!

[gloinul]

Perhaps, but I did not meet Master Maglor before arriving here.

You must be in the seelie court.

[gloinul]

I am. Is that a problem?

[digophelia]

Admittedly, I have a few problems with some of the seelie court members, but no, it isn't.

If memory serves right, Miss Galadriel is still in the station along with her daughter, Miss Celebrian.

What is this Station people have mentioned?

Yes, as a matter of fact. It's neutral ground.

[gloinul]

So there does exist some who do not wish to fight. That is a relief.

Yes, many of us who wanted to avoid the conflict came to the Station to avoid the war. Well, most of us -- some of us have business in the residing courts where our friends are. Even if it is neutral ground, we aren't exempt from the surrounding dangers.

Of course not. Still, it is nice to hear that there are people who refused to play this game.

Normally I'm not an optimist, but there are many who feel the same way. I can only think of a few who want to follow the monarchs.
