--hmph, thought as much. "Say a phrase and the magic will work", hm? Ridiculous. Who ever heard of speaking over distances with a locket.. Not even Legolas with all his fanciful Elven stories would have come up with something so foolish.

[More tapping and poking can be heard]

There’s nothing special about this at all. No gems, not even made of precious metals...and those creatures expect me to believe their stories? [A snort] I’d sooner believe there’s a man in Rohan afraid of horses! [He pauses, and then scoffs] Bah, listen to me, talking to myself. Legolas must be rubbing off on me more than I thought!

[Click goes the locket.]

[Ah, it seems that introductions are in order. Galadriel gives Celebrían an amused look (really dear, you are that curious?) before picking up the locket and re-positioning it so that it's equally focused on the two of them.]

Of course. Master Gimli, allow me to present my daughter, the Lady Celebrían of Imladris. Celebrían, I am pleased to introduce Gimli, son of Glóin, of the line of Durin- a great hero of the War of the Ring.

Ah, you flatter me, my lady.

[He nods in place of a bow]

Imladris? I do not recall seeing you there!

[silvergift]

[She just grins at her mothers look (yes, she is) before looking back to Gimli. How could she resist, really?]

My mother never flatters anyone unnecessarily. Well met, Master Gimli. [She doesn't know much about the War of the Ring, there hasn't really been time to catch up on those particular details. And no one had been keen on telling her before she'd fallen into her enchanted sleep.

She knows that it was after her time in Middle Earth though or she'd know about Gimli and about some of the things mentioned by Elrond.]

It may be that I was not there.

[Not--oh, right. Elves sail after a while. That must be the case]

I would not be surprised if that were the case. There were not very many Elves in Rivendell when I was there, just Lord Elrond and his family. A few others.

It was, indeed, after you had sailed, my dear. [And then to Gimli] Were you not aware, Master Gimli? The Lady Arwen and her brothers are my grandchildren. Celebrían is their mother. [And she fairly beams with pride as she says it.]

I see! Well, it is clear which side of the family she favors then!

[Celebrían beams as well, proud of the mention of her children, and leans against her mother briefly.]

Well, perhaps in resemblance. [She's not as intimidating as her parents can be. Usually.]

And in manner! Arwen is quite kind to all she meets. I am honored to know her.

And now who is it that is practicing flattery? You are entirely too generous.

If you say that, my Lady, then you have not met Lady Arwen. A finer Elf-lass I've never met.

[Since Galadriel is very much not a "lass"]

[A light laugh.] Or perhaps you saw my daughter at her best. More than once as she she purposely set out to get her brothers into trouble. And I am sure her mischief did not stop once I left, only more carefully planned.

[gloinul]

Well, I have seen no mischief that would be considered troublesome.

[She is married after all and wives love to tease their husbands so, y'know.]

Either way, she is a very good friend.

[silvergift]

She is a good person and I am glad she has such friends. [Even if she does somehow hide that side of her.]
