There’s nothing special about this at all. No gems, not even made of precious metals...and those creatures expect me to believe their stories? [A snort] I’d sooner believe there’s a man in Rohan afraid of horses! [He pauses, and then scoffs] Bah, listen to me, talking to myself. Legolas must be rubbing off on me more than I thought!

Not really. I have already fought a war and I have no desire to fight in a second, I have never heard of faeries, and I distrust magic.

And unfortunately, fairies and magic may be, too.

Just a few of them, and only in Fangorn. But yes.

Ah. [The name doesn't ring a bell, but that's okay. At least it's not here... though he doubts very seriously there isn't some kind of walking, talking evil trees hiding in a forest in the Drabwurld.]

They're at least helpful sorts, on the side of those who wish to protect the forests. But...agreed.

The elves would have been lucky if that were the case.

Oh, Ents love Elves, and the Elves love the Ents. It's a bit disturbin', if you ask me.
