[Nico doesn't trust the Unseelie side. In fairness, he doesn't exactly trust the Seelie side, either. Of the two, he can at least trust that the Seelie side won't stab him in the back while he's asleep. He expects them to do it during the daytime.

At any rate, he decides to let his...allies (?) know at least one of his abilities. Two at most. The rest are best used as aces in his sleeves or whenever it actually comes up.

So, when the video feed comes on, Nico looks like he's up in a tree. He is because, man, he doesn't want his conversation jacked by Luke like in Jason's.]

My name is Nico di Angelo. The topic of transportation has come up a few times, and if the worms are any indication, then I expect that they're just the start of whatever we're going to be facing in this world. That's not even including the fact that we're most likely going to do battle with other people.

[A flicker of distaste crosses his face. Being a civilian in one war between mortals and a soldier in a war between demigods is just...not his idea of a fun time. Still, it needs to be said.]

I have abilities that don't include being good with a sword. I'm only comfortable with talking about two of them at this time. One is called shadow travel. It's best used at night, but the basics of this power is that I can go from one shadow to another no matter where it is. Distance and the amount of people I take with me have a very important factor in how much of an energy toll I get. Over seven thousand miles on my own will probably knock me out for a straight week, just to give an example. Even short jumps could leave me exhausted. I'm best used for emergency back up or just for emergency transportation if someone gets badly injured.

[Nico pauses, thinking about how to phrase the other one.]

The second ability...I'm able to affect the dead. I don't need anything special, it's just something that's natural for me. From spirits to the walking dead, I can either kill or banish them. Talk to them, too, in the case of ghosts.

[Okay, yeah, that's a lot of information, and hopefully it's useful.]

Well...maybe we could make a stop back at the castle soon? It wouldn't hurt if we have no other specific goal or timeline, and it'd be good to resupply a bit.

We need new clothes, anyway. In what we have now, we stick out like sore thumbs at the villages.

Not like they'd want to deal with us even if we didn't. I mean, we've definitely been cleaner.

[practically rolling around in worm blood and guts will do that. and there's been a distinct lack of larger bodies of water to clean off in -- another effect of the worms, if he's assuming anything based on what the people back at the castle have said.]

I've felt cleaner just by living on the streets in American cities.

[gosh nico, you're really good at unwittingly dropping worry bombs. bad enough he was already concerned in hindsight for the time thalia spent as a runaway.]

I never stayed at either camp for very long. I either went to the Underworld to help dad, or I wandered around the country, sometimes into big cities. Why else do you think I actually know what I'm doing when it comes to packing what we'd need for about a month out here?

[he'd hoped it was just from having quested a lot before, but nevermind that...]

Why didn't you just stay at one of the camps? I can understand not sticking around New Rome for log periods of time when you were technically lying about who you were, but you at least have a place at Camp Half-Blood. There's a Hades cabin there and everything.

I don't belong. Just because my father has a place in Olympus and a cabin, now, doesn't mean I'll be welcome. I told you before, I may as well be covered in blood or sewage.

[frowns.]

And I told you, it's all in your head. You don't hurt people just by interacting with them, and if you were as much of an outcast as you seem to think you are then you wouldn't have a cabin built just for you. If you'd just let people in, you'd realize they're plenty willing to accept you.

[He snorts.]

I built that cabin myself after the Battle of Manhattan. You tell me who would accept a kid who talks to things only he can see, other than an insane asylum.

[Pause and then he rolls his eyes.]

Then you're crazier than I am.
