Second Bloom ❀ (Video) [Open to both]
[Flora is outside, sitting on what appears to be a swing, but in place of chains are woven vines. As time passes, little flowers bloom along their length. The locket is not on her person, it hovers in front of her, and the view shows her wearing what look like a white overall dress over a pink top and work gloves. Several fairies are flying around her, braiding her hair, or sitting on either shoulder. She waves before gently taking hold of the vine chains.]
Hello everyone, I hope you're well.
[Her voice is more deliberate with the well wishes, and her smile is kind, knowing. A lot's happened--when isn't it--but she does hope everyone has come out of it for the better, somehow. It's no meaningless platitude.
She moves to put her finger to her lip, remembers she's wearing gloves and thinks better of it, and instead cants her head thoughtfully. Her voice is gentle and curious.]
There's something I've been wondering about for a while now, and don't quite seem to understand, just yet. [There is a slight upturn to her lips. She is a patient girl, but she can't say she likes not understanding things. It's what she always seeks to do, if she can.] I've heard of some things from other people that were kind enough to answer me [mostly kind, anyway. Zelos was a little rude.] but with so many people from so many places, I'm curious about the similarities and differences.
[She looks directly at the locket.]
What exactly is a God or Goddess? Or what would you say make one? The same with angels. Is this something that has some sort of set criteria or is it more malleable?
[One might notice that she doesn't ask about demons, but that's because she doesn't realise there's a need; they're the same as monsters to her.
Flora dips her head in thanks and smiles, once again.]
Please, I would very much like to hear what anyone has to say. Thank you.
[Seelie Locked]
I'm headed to the mountains for a mission, soon. I just thought I should mention that. It should be interesting.

That's perfectly understandable, especially if they were nurtured in a harsher environment, like you said. I wouldn't let myself be eaten, but I don't fault them for their nature at all. I wouldn't be a good nature fairy if I was bothered by every little thing that wanted to eat me.
[Like how absurd would that be, come on.
She says it all matter-of-factly in the most pleasant way possible, because how interesting are they? Very, that's how.]
I do! And I'm curious about this species. Do they live longer? Are they smarter?
[Can they be domesticated. Can she put a ribbon on one.]
no subject
[ Though he supposes that's quite true. Nature does have a lot of things that want to eat other things. ]
Much smarter, yes. And should they be in the same vicinity as their smaller cousins, they are more likely to live longer as they will eat them.
[ flora............. ]
Should you wish to meet them, I can help.
now you understand gadgets, she's ridiculous
Oh, I would! That sounds wonderful. I have a lot of food, so if they haven't eaten in a while, I could take care of that.
face in hands @ her
[ Rats are not picky. Or full. ]
I will craft you a bone charm that will make them more friendly to you. They may still bite, but they will not attempt to devour you.
she seems alright but then she turns out to be incredibly embarrassing
And people.]
That sounds lovely. I mean, I hope I don't catch the plague, but I can take care of that and maybe I won't anyway since I'm not human, but it's better safe than sorry. That aside, not being devoured is a pretty big plus all on its own, so thank you very kindly. I appreciate it!
[She smiles grandly.]
Doubly aside, I'm very good with animals, and they often calm themselves around me under certain circumstances.
at least he can escape to unseelie territory if he has to
[ since lol bad end ]
Still. As a Shardbearer, you are allowed access to far more than Dunwall's poor. As a fairy, you have magic that others do not. I cannot tell your future, but I do not believe you have much to worry about in comparison.
[ also Flora presumably knows basic hygiene like "wash your hands" ]
did i mention she can teleport absolutely anywhere. because she can. i'm just. saying.
Her voice is soft, as it often is, but a touche melancholy.]
No, I expect I'll be fine, one way or another.
[Boy, have you seen her nails. They're fabulous.]
omg he's jealous HE USED TO BE ABLE TO DO THAT :C
or don't because spoilers, but ]
We can hope.
sucker B)
Unless I already own this game, I can't remember. Whatever.]
Were you going to craft the charm by hand?
[In lighter news, she tries to picture him whittling away a charm with a sculptor's tools.
It's rather endearing, actually. He seems the type to have remarkably steady and careful hands.]
:CCCC
[ He does -- large hands, too. He has not needed to truly do something by hand in centuries until arriving here; he finds that it holds his interest, now. It doesn't occur to him that he should be building up calluses; his form still has them from all those years before. ]
Any can do it, if they believe in me and my power. But few here know me, and so I craft them.
no subject
Any, huh? So do they need to know how precisely, or does the knowledge just come to anyone who believes in you.
[She likes doing things for herself, but that's not what she's really angling for, here.]
no subject
[ He smiles. ]
Rituals can be done correctly, and I can simply ignore them, if I so choose. But symbols have power, and there is magic in the bones of the great beasts. Carving those bones with those symbols, envoking my name... small magics are easy things to grant the charm itself.
no subject
[Sure, sounds about right.]
no subject
Some of them ask, and sometimes I reply.
no subject
[Because those are some wicked ears, bro.
Not that she doesn't have something similar, sort of but.]
I wonder what changed, though...what happened to make people reject magic instead of embracing it.
no subject
[ He's an observer. It's what he does. ]
Civilizations and their beliefs rise and fall. The Abbey of the Everyman came to power and destroyed other religions, and they teach that magic is to be feared and rejected, its practitioners punished.
hows dat nirvana
[Her face darkens slightly, becoming a mix of anger and sadness.]
Nobody should be hated or hunted for having magic.
[She remembers his mention of the young Emily and hopes she changes things.]
Is there no resistance?
i don't want to talk about it
[ Of course. ]
Wood, lamps, wire, bones, fabrics in the color of the Void. If it is in my name, no matter what it is, I will hear you when you call.
[ He nods, just once. It is a common sentiment here, he finds; so very unlike home. ]
Not much within the Empire. But some.
gently comes back in here
[She was just expecting it to be like, an infinite dark space or something of the sort, whoops and looks surprised, blinking.] Uh, what colour is the Void?
[Hearing that there isn't much resistance is disheartening, but it's better than nothing.]
Wouldn't it hurt you, though? If somehow everyone turned against magic?
c:
[ And so when he is surprised, he rather enjoys it. ]
Blues and purples work best.
Perhaps. I suppose we will see if it happens, will we not?
no subject
Living for surprises sounds rather challenging, though. Is there anything you like seeing for seeing's sake? Something you never get tired of?
[She considers this and grins lightly.]
But you're not wearing blue or purple.
[Just sayin.
She frowns a little at that, concerned.]
I really hope the possibility of your own demise doesn't fall under that unexpected surprise sort of thing.
[Sometimes, there is only so much someone can do, but he could at least try to sound like he has some sort of self-preservation instead of regarding it like an experiment.]
no subject
[ Far more intelligent than many humans he can think of. ]
I would stand out, were I to walk the waking world in such colors, [ he points out, smiling slightly. ]
If I am to end, should I not enjoy it when it happens?
no subject
[Flora's charmed by the expression, even if it slight--especially because it is, actually. She tries not to take anything for granted, but it's hard not to show greater appreciation for the rare and subtle. It's nice.
She idly taps her own smiling lips.]
Hmm, but that's back home, right? You don't have to worry about such constraints here. Blue, I have to be careful with anyway, but I would probably get very depressed at not being able to wear purple ever.
[And the slight, but thoughtful frown.]
Well, yes, but...[She breathes a little, relenting.] Yes.
[She seems like she might let it go, but decides she can't quite.]
I suppose it may sort of depend on the circumstances.
no subject
[ now let him tell you about whales ]
Charms are now often carved on the bones of whales, though it was not always so. But to hear them sing -- is that not a sort of magic in itself?
[ w h a l e s ! ]
You have to be- careful? With blue?
[ Flora you're going to have to explain that to him, he wears the same thing constantly. ]
no subject
[Her tones is cautious. She can hazard a guess and isn't quite so naive, but she wants to remain optimistic.
She smiles at this love of whales. It's cute, and she understands it.]
I think you would very much like Melody, the planet where one of my best friends was born. The Singing Whales keep the whole world in balance. I haven't seen them myself, but they seem very lovely, and their music is said to be quite wondrous.
[Okay, but f a s h i o n !
She points to her eyes.]
Yes. My eyes are very green, you see--um, pun not intended--so wearing blue can be a little tricky since it can clash very badly, sometimes. It depends on how I'm wearing it.
