first shot ☢ VOICE (open to seelie & unseelie)
[He's been toying with the idea of video for about an hour; but he's taken the contacts out for now, and he's too aware that Jem might pick up her locket and see him. And so, he goes with voice. ]
So, fairies. That's - that's great.
[Now that he's got this locket working, he's not actually sure what to say. 'Hi! I'm Kieren, I like the Ramones and long walks through the graveyard'? Christ. ]
Listen, I'm still a bit overwhelmed. If overwhelmed is the right word to use. I've been through some pretty weird shit, but this really takes it to a whole new level.
[A beat. ]
My name's Kieren. I was hoping someone might be able to make some sense out of this? If that's even possible.

With me so far?
voice.
I think so. How far is the Station from Caer Scima?
[A beat. ] My sister's here too. It sounds like she'd be safer there.
voice.
Did you both just arrive at the same time, then? Is she in the same faction?
voice.
[Two weeks riding. Ugh. ]
Thanks, though. Two weeks riding, jesus. She'd try to kill me if I made her do that.
voice.
( yep. sucks bro. )
Maybe it's better you stay at Caer Scima, then. Let's see... Oh. You should prepare yourself, however you can, for fighting of some sort, at some point? Whether it's the opposing forces or something outside. Fairies are just as mischievous here as they are in most lore which, if you're not familiar with it, is fairly mischievous. But if you help your court, you might receive a reward of some sort. They show up sometimes, randomly, and ask for a wish to possibly be granted... It's like a bad acid trip, or something. Not that I know from personal experience? But I know that it can leave lasting psychological scars.
voice.
What kind of rewards?
voice.
voice.
Who's been feeding him?
voice.
The fairies, actually. They took care of him for me.

I should think that depends on which parts you've not made sense out of already.
[Her tone deliberately says little, but if she was exasperated at all rather than indulging in a loose jab, she'd not have responded.]

Fantastic. It did seem a bit too optimistic to hope for something simple.
[He hesitates for a moment, before:]
Sorry, do you mind if I don't have my face pop up?
Video
[Margaery tilts her head curiously, a smile crossing her lips a moment later.]
Not at all. Would you prefer it if I hid mine as well?
Video
[A beat. ]
It'll be more exciting than home, at least. Have you been here a long time?

[She smiles, more gentle than teasing.]
Some months now. I'd thought it different from my home at first, safer. But it turns out to be much the same lately.

[All sorts of faces; that's somewhat comforting. ]

[Margaery almost falters, but recovers quickly.]
-my brother understood it far better. Oh, I'm Margaery.

Makes two of us. I guess my little sister is more of a soldier than me.
[He wishes she weren't. ] I'm Kieren. It's nice to meet you, Margaery.

[Fondly:] She's a right cheeky sod, but she's alright.

[Because she can hear the fondness in his voice.]
...'right cheeky sod'?

[Half joking:] I mean, zombies exist back home. How hard can fairies be?
Actually laughing and waving my hands.
you asshole
dips you in milk
[Okay, he's probably had enough without having to learn she's an alien on top of that.]
I've lived in California for a bit, and it's where I go back to most often, but I've been a few places. I'm really surprised to hear about the zombies, though! I wouldn't have expected that!
[For a lot of reasons, what the hay.]
