[He's been toying with the idea of video for about an hour; but he's taken the contacts out for now, and he's too aware that Jem might pick up her locket and see him. And so, he goes with voice. ]

So, fairies. That's - that's great.

[Now that he's got this locket working, he's not actually sure what to say. 'Hi! I'm Kieren, I like the Ramones and long walks through the graveyard'? Christ. ]

Listen, I'm still a bit overwhelmed. If overwhelmed is the right word to use. I've been through some pretty weird shit, but this really takes it to a whole new level.

[A beat. ]

My name's Kieren. I was hoping someone might be able to make some sense out of this? If that's even possible.

I think so. How far is the Station from Caer Scima?

[A beat. ] My sister's here too. It sounds like she'd be safer there.

About two weeks riding, give or take, I think? I came from Caer Glaem, so I'm not sure exactly, since I haven't made the same trip you'd be making. ( Lydia wants to help, really. )

Did you both just arrive at the same time, then? Is she in the same faction?

Yeah, we arrived together. We're both Unseelie too, so I suppose we got lucky.

[Two weeks riding. Ugh. ]

Thanks, though. Two weeks riding, jesus. She'd try to kill me if I made her do that.

Well, there are fairy rings, but their reliability is questionable at best. And it's no guarantee that they'll even function properly. I don't trust them, personally. I'd like to keep all parts of myself intact.

Maybe it's better you stay at Caer Scima, then. Let's see... Oh. You should prepare yourself, however you can, for fighting of some sort, at some point? Whether it's the opposing forces or something outside. Fairies are just as mischievous here as they are in most lore which, if you're not familiar with it, is fairly mischievous. But if you help your court, you might receive a reward of some sort. They show up sometimes, randomly, and ask for a wish to possibly be granted... It's like a bad acid trip, or something. Not that I know from personal experience? But I know that it can leave lasting psychological scars.

Well, they sound miles better than horseback. The fairy rings, that is.

What kind of rewards?

It kind of depends on what you ask for, I think? Some people ask for material things. Some people -- a friend of mine -- wind up with things like... Magic? Some ability they may never have had before. I've asked for my dog, Prada. By the time I got back to Caer Glaem from the station, he was in my room waiting for me.
