video | evening after the feast | open to both courts
[The video turns on and shows Chloe, a stunning woman with olive skin and pale blue eyes. Her hair, jet black, is tied behind her, and she looks at the camera with smug amusement. It’s probably her typical expression.]
Hello, darlings.
[There’s a notable Australian accent in her voice.]
Since it looks like I’m stuck here for awhile with the rest of you, it seems like a good idea to stock up on some supplies. It’s a dangerous world out there, you know. A girl can’t be too careful.
I could also use some maps of the area. Roads. Obstacles. That sort of thing. I imagine there might be something worth finding out there, too.
And just maybe, if you need something found, I can be the girl to get it for you. Name’s Chloe Frazer. People say I’m the resourceful type.

If you want my advice, love, you'll avoid the specifics. This world's much more better all fuzzy-like.

[Perhaps he misunderstood the gist of the question.]

I used to sit at this little bar on the beach in San Juan that served up bonzer rum. A coconut, a little umbrella, a nice chair, and you could forget all your worries, mate.
Sure wish I was there right now.

[It brings him up short only because there are so many people here from not-Earth places.]
Bugger! And here am I, having MET the man what INVENTED the tiny drink umbrella!
no subject
[How many did he think there were?]
Invented them? I'm sure there's a story behind that.

Charles Bainbridge, his name was, and he liked his coconuts dry.
As one does.
no subject
Well, can't hardly blame him.
[Who wants a wet coconut.]
What's your name, darling?

Chloe Frazer. Pleasure.

Because she was Australian, right?
no subject
[Indeed she was.]
You seem the well-traveled type.

{and there is a touch of wistfulness in his voice once more because bugger -- were those days over permanently now that his debt had come due?]
You as well, what with leaving that dark and mottled hemisphere.

[Naturally, she had to move beyond her roots.]

The Shipwreck City of continents.]
Though I suppose there must be some impressive caches in that Den of Thieves...
no subject
The world is full of 'em.
[She's seen some very remote destinations.]
Just so long as it's worth the risk.

The treasures here. Or so I've heard. One hears things, you know.
[Though he hasn't been a) sober enough or b) drunk enough to pillage anything quite yet.]
whoops html fail
Now you're talking. What've you heard?
what fail i saw no fail
[Discretion is the better part of Captain Jack Sparrow.]

Maybe we should meet and sample some of that rum you mentioned.

The Unseelie Castle, that is. Caer-Whatsitsfacethingy.

[She can manage to find the cellars. Good thing it's the castle she's already at.]
ACTION NOW!
He waited by a large barrel of something well-aged. The cellars were empty, as far as he could see: the perfect place for a conspiracy.
Still, he sang quietly so as not to take any dangerous Australians by surprise. "We're devils and black sheep and really bad eggs...."

As she descended the stairs, she heard the singing, which did put her at ease. At least she knew his whereabouts from the carry of his voice. As she sauntered her way down the stairs she finished the line, "Drink up me 'earties, yo ho."
There was an amused look on her face as she came into the light. "Well, this is a romantic spot." A dark, damp cellar. But she'd been invited to worse. At least there was rum.
no subject
"At least there's rum."
He was holding two bottles 'round the neck; he offered her the smaller one.
