[The video turns on and shows Chloe, a stunning woman with olive skin and pale blue eyes. Her hair, jet black, is tied behind her, and she looks at the camera with smug amusement. It’s probably her typical expression.]

Hello, darlings.

[There’s a notable Australian accent in her voice.]

Since it looks like I’m stuck here for awhile with the rest of you, it seems like a good idea to stock up on some supplies. It’s a dangerous world out there, you know. A girl can’t be too careful.

I could also use some maps of the area. Roads. Obstacles. That sort of thing. I imagine there might be something worth finding out there, too.

And just maybe, if you need something found, I can be the girl to get it for you. Name’s Chloe Frazer. People say I’m the resourceful type.

Maybe there would be more eventually. Maybe sooner rather than later. There was no science to gathering a crew; you simply set up shop and had men make their mark and they were on. Sometimes it required grandiose promises, but many were desperate enough to sail without those.

There were lots of desperate types in the Drabwurld, he'd decided.

"How could I not notice your disappearance, darling? All that beauty suddenly -- POOF -- gone! Impossible. We'll notice. And we'll take what we can, give nothin' back."

And run from giant squid always.

She liked him already. He was funny and she always enjoyed a few compliments thrown her way. There was a strange charm about him.

"I'll hold you to that."

"Oh, will you?" He liked that idea about holding.

Chloe knows a flirt when she hears one.

"Certainly. I'm not fond of being used or forgotten about. When someone is loyal, I hold on tight, darling."

"Oh, I can be very loyal." He wonders whether maybe he should have put on a clean shirt today. "Like the loyalist loyal pirate ever." What a contradiction in terms.

[desperate_times]

"We shall see." Jack will want to save that clean shirt for now. She hopes this does turn into a lucrative partnership, but right now it's all talk. Still, he is handsome, in that bad boy sort of way. A little unhinged too, she suspects, but all the interesting people are.

If only he could have his Pearl back -- here. In a Kraken-free, Davy-Jonesless ocean, of course; that is imperative. The Pearl; a beautiful, devious woman at his side; a secret code word in case things go wrong; lots of free fairy-made rum. Life, it seems, is going to be good in the Drabworld....though he's not going to count on it.
