[Peeta's trying to ignore the politics as best as he can, really. It's depressing to think that this world may not be as great as he thought it was. It's evening when he turns on the video, right after supper. He has a bit of white paint on his cheek.

He smiles at the camera.] I've met a lot of artists here. Are there anymore out there?

[He moves the locket so that it's pointing to a canvas. Painted on it is a very realistic painting of the moon, lovely and lonely-looking against a dark sky.] I've been working on this one today.

[He returns the camera to his face, looking troubled.] Do you think this world is better? Or worse? Or just different?

[He doesn't seem to want to offer up his own opinion, and closes the locket.]

[He smiles.] That must be nice to have your mom around.

Hey... if you don't mind my asking... why do you and your mom have pointed ears? Are you not human?

[There is no graceful way to ask that, but he did his best.]

It is. My husband was here for a short while as well.

[But he's gone now.

His questions catch her off guard though and she looks surprised and then she starts giggling, quickly covering her mouth with her hands to stifle her laughter.

It takes a moment or two for her to get control of herself.] Forgive me.

My mother and I are of the Eldar. Elves you would call us.

[He turns red at the giggling. At least she doesn't seem offended.

BUT WAIT. She said Elves.] Do you know the Elvenking?

You mean Thranduil?

[So, yeah. She does.] We have no met in person but yes.

I've just heard he's a respectable guy and was curious.

[He isn't sure where he was going with the question, but the lie falls easily from his tongue.]

Have you been here long, Celebrían?

Oh yes, my husband and father fought with him in the Last Alliance many years ago. [Well... they were all there anyway.]

Not very long. [Celebrían, you're thinking in elf terms.] Just a few months.

What's the 'Last Alliance?'

Whoa. That seems like a long time to me.

It was a war between the free peoples of Middle Earth and Sauron. It ended an Age.

Hm, I suppose it does. Time feels very differently when you live so long as we do.
