[Hey, look at that. A step in the right direction. He was learning not to open his posts to the side that he was supposed to be fighting. And killing, if her royal glowiness had anything to say about it. Color him not impressed.

But, he was mentally digressing, the locket held in his hand and panned around his brand new shiny wizard's room.

He made sure to get everything in his little scan, showing off what looked like a chemistry set over on the table there and that glowing ball thing that hw as kind of avoiding because scary and everything that was just too cool for school about this room.]

Isn't this great? They gave me a room, totally warded and everything so I don't have to worry about causing earthquakes or setting anyone on fire. Well, outside of it. I could probably still set myself on fire. I'm trying to avoid that. Look, it even has my name on the door.

[Cue him going over and opening the door to show the stylized plaque that was adhered to the door with his name on it.]

Still not entirely impressed with being kidnapped and not being able to go home and the whole trying to kill me stuff, but this... goes a tiny way to making it better. Just a little bit. Ooh, look at this.

[The locket panned back over to a coat rack, where he'd hung up the cloak he'd found when he'd come in at first. It was a dark, dark red that had shimmery silver highlights when he moved it.]

I got a cloak. They're trying to make me a pretty pimp wizard. Hey, hey Radagast. Would that make me Stiles the Red?

[Have a beaming teenager as he turns the pendant around so he can grin into it.]

Great, wonderful. You should totally come down here and show me some of this stuff you've learned. I need a bit more than bubbles if I'm going to avoid more stitches next time there's an invasion.

Of course, I'd be more than happy to! Do you have a wand at all? A lot of the spells I'm used to require wand movements, but you can learn to do them wandlessly and non-verbally as well.

Um... no. No wand. I got a staff with a glowy stone in it that, you know, glows when I do magic. That's usually where stuff comes from, sort of out of the top of it if I'm doing like, bubbles or fire or... stuff. I don't know. Can I not do magic properly without a wand? They didn't tell me that.

Oh, no, I think the staff would be more than good enough. A wand is special and it's more of a... Coordinator for magic than something you have to have. It's what we channel our magic through in my world. It's complicated, but I won't bore you with it all. [ She would, if this were a normal occasion, but seeing as it really isn't... ] I think the staff should work perfectly, Stiles, don't worry.

Good. Great. Because that's all I have and I'm not sure if whittling this down to a wand would bone me entirely or not.

That would be counter-productive. If it really doesn't work with my spells we could always ask the King and Queen for a wand for you.

[Except it seemed to be, so he shut up about that.]

Like I said, I did get some books and potion stuff and I have this set up here so I know I can do some things. I wonder if there's like, crossover.

I'm sure there has to be. I can do my magic here and other people can do theirs, even though it's all different. Either way, we'll learn and it'll be interesting to see any differences.

[ She hums, opening her tiny little bag and pulling out a book. ]

Ah-ha! Standard Book of Spells, Grade One. The best place to start.

[Yeah, okay, he was curious about the bag an-- how the hell did it do that?]

[ She holds up the bag, sticking her arm in it all the way down to her shoulder. ]

Undetectable Extension Charm. It makes my bag big enough to carry anything and everything I need - all my books, clothes, ingredients, potions...

[There was a look on Stiles' face like he'd just been touched in his happy place, a smile spreading as he stared at the bag.]

I want one.

[ She laughs, shaking her head. ]

It's actually quite an advanced spell, but I could enchant something for you?

[Now he looked like she might have just flashed him -- or offered to do the same (or something similar).]

Would you? You'd... would you do that? Oh my god, that would be... I just... hrmmmf.

[Too much excitement. Can't think. Overload...]

Of course. It's hardly a dangerous spell. It'll make a bag deep enough to carry pretty much anything and the only people who'll know about it, or be able to reach into the bag, will be myself, as the caster, you and anyone you decide to tell about it.

[ Watching his reactions to her magic is just... Invigorating. She's so glad she can finally talk to muggles about it, to see their reactions to her world. ]

I... I think I love you.

[Brain to mouth filter? What is that?]

That is so... that is perfect.

[ She flushes, going a deep, dark red, before she nods. ]

Well, um, I can do that. For you. Whenever you're free?

I'm free now? What do you need for it? I got lots of stuff here. Lots and lots and lots. You can use whatever you want.

[He wanted a bag like that.]

Do I need to get a bag? I can get a bag. Does it matter what size? Is bigger better?

[Heh.]

I just need my wand, I know the charm by heart. I had to practice a few times to get it right.

[ He's so excited, it's beyond adorable. ]

No, not really. The extension makes the bag bigger no matter what. Think of it as like an endless space inside a container; the size of the container doesn't really matter because the space is created inside of it. If you don't have a bag I might be able to transfigure you one, or ask a fae.

[He sort of made a weird strained sound because this all just sounded so cool and good god, it was like one of his games come to life oh my god he was going to have a bag of holding he was going to pee himself.]

I can look around here-- transfigure? What's that? Is that like... transformation? Oh my god, you can do that too?

[ Hermione is unaware of his pee-excitement and just nods. ]

It's a little bit complicated but I can transfigure things - transform them. We were taught things at school, like turning a match into a pin and an owl to a pair of opera glasses.

[It's probably for the best, really.]

Oh... right, right. You and Ginny went to the magic school. God, I am so envious. That is so cool. Way more useful than algebra.

Oh, I did do something like that, too. Arithmancy? It was all about numerology and number charts and figures. I loved it.

[He senses a bit of Lydia in this one; all brains and knowledge tucked away to be brought out when needed.]

Muggle high school is balls compared to your guys'.

You know the word! Ginny taught you, I expect? [ She's obviously pleased. ] This is so exciting. Magic is a secret in our world so I've never really been able to see a muggle react to it beyond my parents.

Really? Yeah, she mentioned that. And that you guys are apparently from a bit earlier, since none of you know what the internet or wifi is.
