[Hey, look at that. A step in the right direction. He was learning not to open his posts to the side that he was supposed to be fighting. And killing, if her royal glowiness had anything to say about it. Color him not impressed.

But, he was mentally digressing, the locket held in his hand and panned around his brand new shiny wizard's room.


He made sure to get everything in his little scan, showing off what looked like a chemistry set over on the table there and that glowing ball thing that hw as kind of avoiding because scary and everything that was just too cool for school about this room.]

Isn't this great? They gave me a room, totally warded and everything so I don't have to worry about causing earthquakes or setting anyone on fire. Well, outside of it. I could probably still set myself on fire. I'm trying to avoid that. Look, it even has my name on the door.

[Cue him going over and opening the door to show the stylized plaque that was adhered to the door with his name on it.]

Still not entirely impressed with being kidnapped and not being able to go home and the whole trying to kill me stuff, but this... goes a tiny way to making it better. Just a little bit. Ooh, look at this.

[The locket panned back over to a coat rack, where he'd hung up the cloak he'd found when he'd come in at first. It was a dark, dark red that had shimmery silver highlights when he moved it.]

I got a cloak. They're trying to make me a pretty pimp wizard. Hey, hey Radagast. Would that make me Stiles the Red?

[Have a beaming teenager as he turns the pendant around so he can grin into it.]

You know the word! Ginny taught you, I expect? [ She's obviously pleased. ] This is so exciting. Magic is a secret in our world so I've never really been able to see a muggle react to it beyond my parents.

Really? Yeah, she mentioned that. And that you guys are apparently from a bit earlier, since none of you know what the internet or wifi is.

... No, I don't know what those things are. Not really, I mean, I haven't been in the muggle world for a while. [ Bit busy fighting a war and all that. ]

She said it was ninety something? it's two thousand eleven where I come from, so there's a bit of a time gap. The internet was... well it was crap back in the nineties. Dial-up modem and all that.

Oh, wow. I knew people were from advanced times, but... [ She shakes her head. ] I'm from a few years after Ginny, I suppose, after the war. It's the year two thousand for me.

Well, I guess it would just be starting to be a thing then. I mean, less modem, more cable. I bet you'd be really into a tablet. Kind of like your bag of holding, only with books and videos. It's like, well, it's like a tablet size, but you can store hundreds of thousands of books in it. They're great.

[ Her eyes widen and she looks... Well. She looks beyond excited. ]

You can carry thousands of books on one thing? I - how?

Computer chips. Gigabytes and gigabytes of memory in one little chip. It's a wonderful thing.

That's amazing. Magic has come up with a lot of things, but I never imagined we'd get so far so fast. Muggles, I mean.

[teenyoda]

Oh, you should see some of what's coming up, I mean... yeah. You guys have some nifty tricks, no doubt, but we're doing pretty good in the tech department.

Are they at the Station, these - these new things? I heard there was a lot of familiar technology there...?

[teenyoda]

Mm, I don't know. I haven't been to the station. Could be. Not really sure of the tech levels there. You could get a hold of my buddy, John, and ask him. He's there right now.

Oh! I needed to visit John sometime soon... Maybe that'll give me an excuse to learn about all this technology. [ She beams. ] I'll have to look around, maybe he could show me.

He'd be a good guy for that, but don't expect a smile. Or a sense of humor. Or... much. Taciturn is sort of his motto.

Oh, I know. He's very... Particular. [ She grins. ] And protective.

[teenyoda]

Yeah. Kind of like some kind of watch dog. Ooh, give him a milkbone for me if you see him.

[ She lifts an eyebrow. ]

Do you want me to tell him it's from you?

Please do. He can't hurt me and want to protect me at the same time.

Alright, but if he does come after you I'm not going to help.

Done. [ She shakes her head, grinning. ] And we'll meet up for magic soon?

Yeah, totally. Sure thing. Just let me, ah, figure out a bag or something and maybe bring down some food, because every room needs food, right? Right.

That's one thing I can't magic out of thin air, so it might be a good idea. Remember, any bag is fine, don't worry too much about size.
