[ It takes little time for Thorin to realize he must learn as much as he can about these lands. If he can't leave, if he can't go back, then at the very least he ought to make sure he finds a safe place for him and the few he keeps close. He has not met many so far he would ask questions, and even the few he did ask could only tell him so much.
Library it is, then. However, this becomes a problem when, after almost an hour of looking through the castle, he can't find the place.
Not only that, but he also ends up getting lost through the corridors.
When he speaks to the locket, he is not actually asking anyone. He is asking the locket itself for directions. ]
Tell me the way to the library.
[ He frowns at the locket for the longest time, waiting for some kind of immediate response, frown deepening when it doesn't come. ]
This useless-- [ And it shuts off. ]
((ooc: open for action at the seelie court!))

Half the fairies are currently intent on attacking me, rather than help me. And I asked one, but their directions were wrong.
[ No they weren't. He just didn't follow them properly. ]
Many fairies are ill, you need calm the ones that are violent. Perhaps you might ask one of the healthy fairies to lead you rather than direct you?
I would not have any of these creatures leading me anywhere. It is enough that they brought me to this place to start with.
You are not the only one who followed the fairies, Master Dwarf. And as it is, they would know Caer Glaem best to direct you.
I was tricked into following them. [ As far as he is concerned, that is the only reason why he would be brought here without objection. ] They may try to trick me so that I don't find the information I seek.
We are here now and they do seek to keep us as comfortable as they might be able to. And they are the best suited to helping you reach the library.
Regardless, I will see. They may be the best suited but they are not the only ones.
[ Forever glaring suspiciously at every fairy he sees. ]
No, they are not. But you might have saved yourself a great deal of time by asking one as a guide.
[Celebrian reaches to lightly touch at the fairy on her shoulder.]
I will consider it.
[ Why anyone would be so friendly with these creatures is completely beyond him. ]
How is one supposed to calm the violent fairies? So far nothing but killing them has worked.
They seem to enjoy song. It calms them and they are not ungrateful after. [She pauses and then draws a fully gold dagger from her boot.]
They would offer us gifts of gold, for something so simple?
They are sick and we can cure them. It does not seem so simple to me. And I think they are also grateful for not being slaughtered. [That comes with a look.]
And was I supposed to guess? They were attacking my nephew, it was the only thing I could do to stop them.
And those not ill have been fairly straightforward about needing help to calm their kin.
Then perhaps I will ask them about this gratitude of theirs, seen as I was not informed of it.
You likely would not have been. The fairies that would have rewarded you lay dead.
It is not my fault they were sick, and I am not to blame either that I did not guess how to heal them. They attacked my nephew, so I defended him. I killed them. I was not going to stop and wait for them to explain any of this to me.
