[ The feed opens with Hermione in the library - where else would she be? - in the Seelie court, a pile of books and papers around her. It's obvious she's been reading and taking notes, going deeper and deeper into as many of the shelves as she can (and the only place she hasn't been allowed access is the Restricted Area, which she is going to get permission for soon). After a moment of brushing her hair out of her face and forcing a slightly brighter smile she leans forward, into the 'camera'. ]

Hello, everyone. My name is Hermione Granger, for anyone I haven't met yet, and I was just wondering if you'd mind answering a few questions I have?

[ She pauses for a moment, grabbing a piece of paper with a list on it and smoothing it out. ]

I was wondering if you'd all be able to tell me about magic, or powers, or anything that might not be considered 'normal' to the average human or otherwise that exist in your worlds? Maybe magical creatures, too, or beings that you think do not transcend to other places that you've heard of. In my world, if it's alright to call them that, we have magic, magical creatures and humans, giants, werewolves, vampires... But a lot of worlds - or universes, I suppose - don't.

[ She smiles, almost sheepish, shy. ]

I hope this isn't too intrusive, I'm just curious and I'd love to learn more, if I'm able.

The coolest? Oh, gosh...

[ She tilts her head, thinking. ]

Well, my favourites are House Elves - I fight for their rights, actually, and they're incredible creatures with so much power that we can barely begin to understand - but there are so many amazing things too... I suppose the most fascinating creature to someone who's new to my world would be a Thestral? They're magical pegasus like horses that can only be seen by people who have witnessed death.

[ He could see one now, he thinks. After Ben and now Captain Stacey. Everything really has changed in such a short period of time. Hm, his smile thins somewhat at the thought. ]

[ tapping his chin with his pencil. ] Morbid. [ just an off-hand remark. ] Maybe that's proof of the psychological affects of witnessing someone die. You literally see the world differently after that, y'know?

Maybe that's where the muggle concept comes from. I think a lot of magical things cross over into the muggle world and become stories or fables. The idea that the world changes when you experience something is definitely made real in the wizarding world.

[ Hermione remembers a time when she hadn't been able to see them, Thestrals. Now she knows her return to Hogwarts will come with the ability to see these horselike creatures in all their glory. ]

Morbid but fascinating.

There's probably a scientific explanation for most of it — the creatures and the magic. I mean, if New York can have lizard people and spider guys, it's not that much of a stretch to have skeletal horses with some kind of natural camouflage. And magic is really just advanced reality manipulation.

[ shhh just accept the magic, peter. ]

Or it could just be magic. [ Hermione grins, though. ] My world is magical, and that sort of thing is normal. It's just how things are, and that's how we learn about it - it's magic and that's the explanation. It's not always the best explanation, trust me, I've argued against it enough times, but... Magic is magic.

But it has possible logical explanations, so it doesn't have to be just magic.

[ science!!! ]

That's true -- I mean, muggles have managed to make amazing things without magic, just using science. There has to be a balance between the two, even if magic can explain everything.
