[ The feed opens with Hermione in the library - where else would she be? - in the Seelie court, a pile of books and papers around her. It's obvious she's been reading and taking notes, going deeper and deeper into as many of the shelves as she can (and the only place she hasn't been allowed access is the Restricted Area, which she is going to get permission for soon). After a moment of brushing her hair out of her face and forcing a slightly brighter smile she leans forward, into the 'camera'. ]

Hello, everyone. My name is Hermione Granger, for anyone I haven't met yet, and I was just wondering if you'd mind answering a few questions I have?

[ She pauses for a moment, grabbing a piece of paper with a list on it and smoothing it out. ]

I was wondering if you'd all be able to tell me about magic, or powers, or anything that might not be considered 'normal' to the average human or otherwise that exist in your worlds? Maybe magical creatures, too, or beings that you think do not transcend to other places that you've heard of. In my world, if it's alright to call them that, we have magic, magical creatures and humans, giants, werewolves, vampires... But a lot of worlds - or universes, I suppose - don't.

[ She smiles, almost sheepish, shy. ]

I hope this isn't too intrusive, I'm just curious and I'd love to learn more, if I'm able.

Honestly, Gin, you don't know the half of it.

Seeing as I'm too clever to've ended up there at all, can't say I can compare. I'd say it's a lot like Hogwarts if it weren't for the giant worms, but we had a basilisk so maybe it's not too different at all.

[ Merlin, it's been months since she's even heard his voice. ]

Hi, Harry.

So tell me and I'll have the whole of it.

How long have you got? There's seven years to go through, you know.

[ She starts laughing. ]

Fair point, I do know most of it. You lot practically lived with us, I pieced enough together.

I hope you haven't had to scrub cauldrons yet.

[ Harry nods. It is sort of like home, but not really like the parts of Hogwarts that he spent a lot of time in. ]

Hi.

When do I ever?

[ ...don't answer that. ]

Even if I had, I wouldn't tell you. What, and make you jealous of all the fun you'd be missing out on?

Where are you, then?

You too kind.

[ Harry picks up his locket and pans it around the room behind him. It's clearly a castle, but the colours are darker, and there's some rather gruesome looking creatures depicted in stained glass. As he turns the image, he narrates:]

Welcome to scenic Caer Scima.

Yeah, she's pretty much just my sister.

[one he barely gets to see, between her hanging out with artemis' hunters and juno generally being a huge pain in the ass, but still.]

We're the only kids he has, though. That I know of, at least. Some have more than others, but the children of the Big Three -- Zeus, Poseidon and Hades [and he will grind against his instincts here and default to the greek names because saying both gets obnoxious and she picked zeus first] -- were too strong, so they made a pact not to have kids anymore.

[at least he has the decency to look sheepish on his father's behalf.]

...Obviously, my father broke that pact. Twice. Though technically, Hades is the only one that didn't break it, and we still manage to have a pair of his kids running around somehow. It's complicated.

[ he whistles at the year. that's far back, relatively speaking. ] A lot has changed in recent years, mostly thanks to the scientists at Oscorp. [ my dad. ]

But Spider-Man's — yeah. I take pictures of him for the local news, and I've never seen him do anything bad, y'know? He's always helping, or he's trying, anyway. He's hope — well, that's what I think, anyway. [ then, he visibly perks up at that, as if something just clicked. ]

That actually makes a lot of sense — like, there's this theory that if there are multiple universes, they bleed together, meaning parts of my universe show up in yours. Spider-Man's real and a hero in mine, but traces of him pop up in other universes, maybe in movies or TV or something like that and vice versa. Like, maybe there's a fictional Hermione Granger in my universe or another girl like you —

[ abruptly, he freezes. hermione granger. a fictional hermione granger.

oh my god.

that means when she said hermione granger, she really meant the hermione granger. oh, man, he totally had a crush on her growing up even before she was played by emma watson. she made being smart cool, like it should be. and she thinks spider-man is a good guy, unlike, uh, a lot of people! he kind of wants to squeal and maybe thank her for existing. is that weird? yeah, that's definitely weird. he settles for a seemingly inexplicable grin, ducking his head to hide his face and slight flush. ] Well, I mean, if we were lucky, we would have one of you.

[ was that still too personal? probably. ]

I've never heard of Oscorp... But it's been a long time since I've spent more than a couple of months in the non-magical world. It's entirely possible that all this has started and I've been busy elsewhere. But it must be incredible to get that close to him! I mean, he's a real hero, isn't he?

[ It's possible. She hasn't really been focussed on the science of the muggle world and she's really not been able to do much long term study of what's going on. Plus, he is twelve years ahead... ]

So it's almost like it's been bleeding through, in a way? It's logical - there are some people here who have Gods in their world that are their parents, Gods which are more mythology than anything else in my world. If there are parallel universes then there must be reflections. I wonder if there is a fictional version of me - that would be... Different.

[ The sudden drop of his voice, though, makes her eyes flicker open and she gazes back, a little confused. She has no idea what's going through his mind, of course, but she does lift her lips into a smile; the grin is precious and, no, he's not blushing, it's obviously just warm here. Right? It makes senses. He probably enjoys the fact that she likes the guy he takes photos of, too. ]

Well, um. Thank you. That's really sweet of you to say.

[ Just. This. Look. ]

It all sounds so... Intense. I can't imagine all of it being true, but - of course, it has to be, because you exist. It's amazing.

[ She thinks it over, leaning back in her chair. All of this is so interesting and it means a lot to her that he's going out of his way to explain it to her - more than she could probably express. ]

Did he break the pact because he couldn't, um, help himself, or because he fell in love?

You're right there. We shared a room enough for you to know almost everything through osmosis.

Which is good. I'm glad things are peaceful and not too... I don't know. I'm glad no one is fighting - that's a good thing. I've just come out of a war.

[his expression retreats quickly into careful, stony indifference, only a slight tightness around his jaw giving away his agitation.]

I wouldn't know. I've never met him, and I don't remember my mother.

Oh. Oh, I - I'm sorry. [ She pauses, taking a deep breath. ] If it means anything, my parents don't remember me, so...

It's fine. It's pretty normal for demigods.

[but he's glad for the offered escape route.]

How do you forget your own kid?

It... It was a spell. I had to protect them, so I made them forget me so they wouldn't be killed.

Wars are never easy. I'm sorry to hear it. But hopefully we'll be able to keep things peaceful. So long as we keep our heads, things will be fine.

Oh.

[oh.]

...I'm sorry.

[ is his face on fire? oh, god, if she keeps talking about spider-man, he's going to combust. he just nods at the hero comment. ]

I'm really lucky to have the job. [ there. that's relatively humble, all things considered. ] And it's just — you seem pretty smart. [ abort abort abort. ]

But, yeah, alternate and parallel universes. [ let's just talk about that and nothing else, okay? okay. he recovers enough to look at her, grinning lopsidedly, though he keeps his hands busy, twisting them. ] It's weird to think about; I know. If Spider-Man's fictional, maybe the dorky photographer who follows him around is, too.

[ maybe, but probably not. who would want to read about peter parker with spider-man around? behind the mask, he's probably a dashing jock, played by channing tatum or something. ugh. anyway. ] The gods are a good example, since it supports the basic theory. I don't know of "real" gods, in my world, either — which makes sense because all the universes should be similar, with a few altered independent variables.

It's alright. I think I can fix it, once I go home. I think.

[ Hermione has no idea what she's doing; she just knows about Spider-Man, about how he's a superhero, how he's saved so many people. He's a little like Harry, really. ]

You sound like a much better reporter than the ones I'm used to. Their photos are always used to hurt people rather than help. At least you let people see how human Spider-Man is, right? If he can be photographed he can be related to, a little.

[ And. Oh. Now it's her time to get a little flustered and she shakes her head, dismissing it without a word. She knows she's smart, of course, but she isn't as obnoxious about it as she once was. ]

It's entirely possible. If Spider-Man is a comic, or a movie - it's been a while since I really had time for films - then it makes sense that, maybe, there are stories about the photographer too, even if he does think he's dorky. I think it would be a fascinating read.

[ She reaches for a few pieces of paper, flipping through them for some of her other notes. She wonders who would play her in a movie - someone with huge hair, probably, just like her own. ]

Maybe it's like a domino effect. They fall and tap each other, dropping little pieces along until things are mixed up and snap into place, so each world has a minor difference.
