Out of curiosity, has anyone else been looking into places to live outside of the court/as a second residence? The chaos of the past few weeks suggests that having a place to retreat in the aftermath may not be the worst idea out there.

I ask primarily to see if anyone else has begun the process and has advice on how to go about it.

Huh. How far is that from the castle, out of curiosity?

It's the forest to the south. I'm not quite sure how far south it goes, though.

That probably might be a thing to look into, in the near future.

I suppose this also begs the question do faerie architects and construction workers complete jobs faster?

Once it's done, you can come and take a look, if you'd like.

They didn't say so, but they did say they can complete fortifications to a higher standard.

If you'd have me, I'd gladly take you up on the offer.

That sounds like a good trade off, if the pace is what we'd perceive as normal.

I would assume at least some of them are also hardier than the average human construction worker, which may help.

Doubtlessly.

Honestly, I'm curious as to what your whole experience ends up being when the construction's done. Would you be willing to consider a commission, if the process goes smoothly for yourself?

Oh, absolutely.

[ She's hardly going to be getting a great deal of battleground spoils, and while she has 'command' of the team, she wants to pay them for their service. Commissions will help both herself and them. ]

Are you thinking of anything specific?

At the moment, nothing beyond "not conspicuous." Hardly a useful descriptor and it practically begs for an architectural survey of what's around here.

[Waver's always glad to pay people who know what they're doing, although it occurs to him that currency might end up being an issue. Mostly since it doesn't seem to be used here.]

I certainly wouldn't mind doing an architectural survey.

Well if you're okay with it, then I guess the question becomes funding. (As I'm loathe to make anyone work for free.)

I think you may have to figure that one out on your own.

Damn and here I was hoping for at least a few suggestions on the matte.

Maybe someone in court needs a tutor?

I suppose that's a fair trade.

It is, and adjustments could be made in the future.

Have you been able to find suitable replacements for your usual chemistry set?

[gordianknots]

I've gotten some glass containers that seems suitable, and managed to construct a few frames for holding things over contained fires, but getting to actual chemicals is now the fun part.

Keep me updated? I want to know how it works.

[ And if her team is going to end up building something for him, it would help to know what exactly he may need. ]

I definitely will. Honestly, asking for a large supply of chemicals that I don't need to distill might be a good use of those favours occasionally supplied.

I would think so. I've already run out of ideas for things to ask for.

Hm. Transportation to somewhere, maybe?

There's a massive library outside either faction, in the northwest, apparently.
