Voice, Open

[ Grief, as deep as the sea, as endless as the sky. Pain, like sheeting ice, in the voice that speaks... and for those with ears to hear, a tiny, quiet envy and relief. ]

For those who knew them, the list of those freed from this world now includes the Lady Galadriel and her husband, the Lord Celeborn, their daughter, the Lady Celebrian, the Lady Idril, and Maedhros my brother. Also, the Lady Sif, who counted us as family in lieu of those left in her own world.

Their things are with me, but they left no letters behind.

[The boy that comes into view is seated on the ground, knitting utensils and wool in his lap, watching her intently. A Fëanorian star can be seen on his chest, otherwise he looks very human (though not quite, there is something about him that isn't). He smiles.]

Are you related?

[Her response is somewhat delayed, waiting until after Aragorn had left to see to Maglor. She takes a moment to compose herself, making note of the Fëanorian star though now isn't the time to ask. She looks weary, settled on a chaise as she holds the locket.]

Celebraín was my mother. Galadriel and Celeborn my grandparents. [And Idril her great-grandmother, though it was already difficult enough to say those.] If you mean Maglor, in a way, we are.

[A beat.] And might I know your name little lord?

I'm Muscovy.

[But he doesn't continue there; this conversation isn't about him.]

I am sure the lady Galadriel will be fine. She is very scary, yes? [Not that Galadriel ever did anything specifically to scare him, but it was quite clear that she could be if she wanted. And being scary is strength. He doesn't worry for her.

...he doesn't really know enough about the other two to comment.]

Arwen.

[The comment about her grandmother earns a bit of a smile, even if it's bittersweet.] She can be, yes. But she can also be quite caring - it is often when she's facing a threat against her family that she is at her most terrifying.

[She'd heard the stories, knew the power her grandmother held.]

She was. [He nods. But not only scary - Galadriel clearly was troubled by how the two sides of her family hated each other. Which, if Arwen is Celeborn's granddaughter...]

You don't hate Maglor, yes?

[Ahaha...ha.]

Truthfully, no. Though it is no mystery as to why you ask. The past is a dark beast in some regards and while I try to not let it rule my present, it is easier for me as I did not live through some of those hardships.

Then it is good that you are here and your grandfather is gone.

[He ...has never really been the most diplomatic, being bad at guessing what is okay to say and what is rather. Off-key. But it is safer for Maglor if the only enemies that he has in this world are ones whom he made here.]
