Magic especially. At least back home. The magic here could be different, of course. I've just been wary of it myself out of habit I suppose. But if it is different I might consider the idea of looking into this world's magic, as you are.

As I am the source of all magic in my own world, I can readily testify that the magic here is different.

So what, while you're here nobody back home can use magic? Or, wait. How would you being here affect that with the whole time being different here? Would it? Wait, no you probably have no more an idea about that than I do.

But you say magic does work differently here? I know someone from home had magic and could still use it here, it was just restricted a bit more.

That, I think, would be a question for someone more versed in the mechanics of this war.

Magic of other worlds has a different feel to it. If you are practiced enough, you can feel the nuances between the magic of individuals.

Perhaps. A lot of us seem to be actively trying to stay out of it, as far as I can tell.

You can? I guess I wouldn't know. I've never used magic myself before outside of help from others. And even then that didn't exactly go well. But I'm aware there are others here with some magic and powers. Though I suppose that isn't too surprising. Magic from different worlds being unique.

So long as you have your shard, you are claimed. War will come to you. The natives do not care what your personal feelings on the matter happen to be.

Is magic a natural talent of yours, or something you picked up for that moment?

I'm aware. I know I'm probably hopeful in my stance on the matter. But all the same, I'd rather not act rashly and make things worse.

It's not. I just used magical items others gave me for a price, mostly. Kind of hard to explain exactly on the specifics when it isn't really my expertise. My main experience with magic has been through curses so I think it's obvious why I'd be cautious from that. First the Sleeping Curse from the apple Regina made me take and then the Dark Curse that sent us from our home without our memories.

The actions and inactions of shardbearers move the fate of this world and, by extension, all others.

I see. I assume that the Sleeping Curse made you sleep?

Perhaps I will take action by finding other ways to assist, outside of outright fighting. Or simply defend certain neutral areas for the time being. Something may well eventually make me want to step up, but for now I'm content as I am.

It did. For a while. I'm not sure if the dwarfs thought me dead, but Charming found me and woke me. True Love will overcome any curse.

True Love?

Exactly.

And yes. True Love. Or, True Love's Kiss was what really broke her Sleeping Curse to wake me. It's more powerful than any curse, any magic. Though of course if magic here is different I can't be sure if that is still the case here or not.

It is not a solution I have heard of, yet the magic in my world reflects the current period. Perhaps it could manifest, in a more kind time.

It was dangerous back home too. But that didn't mean things were entirely impossible. At least in regards to breaking curses. Then again, my Charming isn't here so I can't say if the kiss would work here or not. It's not all that surprising that magic or a lot of things might work differently depending on the world people are from though, really.

I know of very few who believe in True Love. In truth, I know little of it.

I'm not sure just how much more there really is to True Love. It's what I have with Charming. We know we'll always find each other and overcome anything together. Being together, having his support makes me happy. Even in the worst of situations.

And has that so far been true?

Yes. So far, every time we've been separated, we've found each other and set things right, somehow. So I'm sure he will come. Or I'll make it back to him.

I am not certain how True Love is different from other bonds. I have seen many people with bonds who are supportive of one another and who work together, who come together after and during hardship.

Of course. But True Love is just a much more powerful and stronger feeling of all of that. It creates happiness. I'm not sure how else to descibe it, exactly.

It sounds blinding.

Blinding? How so?

Would you do anything for him? Would he do anything for you? No matter the consequences, the morality?

I've gone into traps for him the same he has for me. We've both risked our lives for the other. Though, as far as morality goes, yes. We have both killed. Though for him that's mostly applicable to monsters. Ogres and dragons and the like.

As I said.

I doubt our lovelife is all that different from most. We have our issues the same as any other couple. But we make it work. I was willing to lie to his face about my feelings if it meant he would live as his pretend father threatened to kill him if I didn't. So he would get over me and marry another to save their kingdom. Of course, we ended up marrying anyway. Even if this isn't the most traditional coupling given our history. Our honeymoon was spent taking down Medusa. Take that as you will.
