Hey. With everyone preparing for war, thought I would make an offer. Name a monster you want and I'll tame it for you. I need a favour equal in return. You want something simple, it's simple return. Harder and I need more for it. Make an offer if you're interested.

Tell me about the beasts of this land. I need to hear from both courts. What monsters do you know about? The more in-depth, the better.

[He considers saying thanks but he doesn't, just shutting off his locket instead.]

If they're happy is up to you. Monsters are just like humans in a lot of ways, once you get past the 'monster' part.

[He whistles and a small fairy flies into view, peeking at the locket before hiding behind Aster's shoulder.]

That's Ciaran. She likes sweets and sleeping on books. I figured it out, so I made her a book nest and add sugar to her food. Keeps her happy. But even if she wasn't happy, she'd be loyal to me. I want her happy though. She deserves it for serving me loyally, even if that's how the magic works.

You've tamed even the fairies! [ surprise. perhaps a little awe. she doesn't want a fairy, but she is deeply impressed that someone might have managed it. ]

[He smiles.] Yeah, she was the first one I tamed here. Like I said, doesn't always work, but she's already been useful for me. She can scout ahead faster than anything else can and not look suspicious. Any of them can be useful here.

...If you can tame a fairy, I wonder if you can tame an imp.

[ soft careful thoughts wend around her mind. ]

I'm sure I could. [He sounds confident enough in it, too.] Do you want an Imp?

Y-yes.

[ or. she didn't. not until this very moment, when the possibility stretched before her. ] I want an imp. Is an imp a simple one? Pray tell, what will an imp cost me?

An imp shouldn't be hard. I'll take some money or meat for my own monsters. Doesn't have to be a lot but I'll accept what's given. Where should I deliver it?

I'll tell your imp that precisely. Any other instructions or requests on it?

I would prefer one of Caer Scima's imps. If...possible.

[He wonders why but doesn't ask.] Shouldn't be too hard. I happen to be nearby it right now. I won't be able to go in but people around here send imps out all the time. I'll get one.

Good food or good steel. Mayhaps both are in it for you, if this succeeds.
