video; both courts

Are the women in this world and your own given as much opportunity to defend themselves as the men?

[ she doesn't wait for any answers, giving a humorless snort of laughter at the locket before continuing. it's not a directly related addition to her question, but it's certainly on the same train of thought: ]

Ridiculous that those already holding power are given the privilege of training to the highest levels of their skills, but those most in need of it are left to rely on the protection of others.

I know one particular knight who I have to tell maybe a few times after that. [Looking at you, Diarmuid.]

Treating women in such a way seems strange, but then I remember how odd the Romans are about their own women. I know no woman of Eire would stand such behavior... [Her smile falters a little though, thinking to Fionn and how the rumors speak of how the Fianna are behaving in recent years.] I will look forward to meeting her.

A noble endeavor, Lady Katsa. If she has the inclination, I might teach her a few of my skills if it suits her.

[The smile is back fully.]

One only need hear of the tales of our land to know the truth of that.

It is the same thing. That is how nobility came about, by doing the right thing. I would be very angry myself if women were forced to limit themselves and make themselves vulnerable.

I would like that.

Oh, [Grainne's face falls a little.] no, there is those in power who do abuse it in my land. I mean true nobility, not those of what is considered proper birth. But it is also true that in my land a man of low rank, whose heart is true and body used wisely, may be honored for what he is.

I understand it may be more difficult for our nobility to get away with such behavior though. Word spreads very quickly though we do not possess these lockets, and our land has its laws.
