Are the women in this world and your own given as much opportunity to defend themselves as the men?

Ridiculous that those already holding power are given the privilege of training to the highest levels of their skills, but those most in need of it are left to rely on the protection of others.

It is the same thing. That is how nobility came about, by doing the right thing. I would be very angry myself if women were forced to limit themselves and make themselves vulnerable.

I would like that.

Oh, [Grainne's face falls a little.] no, there is those in power who do abuse it in my land. I mean true nobility, not those of what is considered proper birth. But it is also true that in my land a man of low rank, whose heart is true and body used wisely, may be honored for what he is.

I understand it may be more difficult for our nobility to get away with such behavior though. Word spreads very quickly though we do not possess these lockets, and our land has its laws.
