[ thomas has not been a common presence on the network since his arrival to the drabwurld; gaining the ability to talk telepathically with the people who've been close to him have made it fairly easy for him to communicate without it. but this time, thomas addresses the network at large, although only with a (perhaps semi-familiar) voice.

he sounds uneasy. tired. ]

Do any of you have nightmares? How do you deal with them?

[ it's a stab at anonymity, mostly because he doesn't want to show his face, but the storms currently raging over head have not made his life any easier. thomas sleeps fitfully, twenty minutes at a time, wakes up screaming. no one's going to see his face as an effect of that. eventually, he tacks on a soft--]

To be fair, neither of us were that great at it for the first few ..years. [ no really, years. but that's what happens when you give a third grader a telepathy chip. it's going to take some time to learn any kind of focus. ] I don't mind, though. You're a quick learner. And your nose flares a little when you're concentrating really hard. S'cute.

thomas huffs, and is immensely thankful for the privacy of the voice function, considering his cheeks go a brilliant red. ] It does not. [ it probably does. ] It's--you're a good teacher. I don't mind learning. Uh--from you.

[ thomas can hear the amusement in her voice and flushes even further--he can literally feel his ears burning. ] You're totally making that up! It's not like I'm going to look in a mirror when I'm focusing on something.

[ this is definitely distracting him from not being able to sleep. thomas is also terrible at flirting so this continues as awkwardly as it has before. are his hands sweating? it totally feels like they are. he smiles on his end, even if it's not visible, and asks, faintly teasing. be cool thomas be cool. ] Besides Minho?

It is! I swear, I swear. Next time I'll be sure to get a photo of it. Or a video. A video might be better proof.

[ she's busy hiding her smile in her pillow after that, even though he can't see it. it's still kind of ridiculous ]

Minho, huh. What's he been teaching you that I can't?

[ no, she doesn't sound the least bit competitive, but she's trying to, maybe. ]

thomas is definitely staring off into the distance like the twitterpated teenager he in fact is. ] Yeah, whatever. [ he doesn't sound nearly as huffy as he probably should sound.

dryly, with a little bit of a grin in his voice, like he's teasing her: ] Running?

Running? Please. I could teach you how to run. [ false ] And how to be a great Runner. [ also false ]

But, I guess if you want to learn from Minho so bad, I can't stop you...

[ what no that's not what he wants no ]

[ she's trying to sound tough but she actually probably sounds kind of prurient. flirting is so complicated. ]

also this is making thomas feel weirdly jittery and excited. a part of him probably just wants to impress teresa, the rest is just still sort of head over heels confusedly in love with her. ] I'd bet something on it.
