[video / both courts / backdated to december 3rd]
[This message comes a few days after the new influx of arrivals. Still roughly two weeks after the original call to arms he put out, but give him a break. He needed some time to actually settle in at Redgate without all the Reynard shit to deal with.
To the newer folk who wouldn't have seen him before, the individual appearing on their lockets is a rather young man, blond and golden-eyed behind lavender-tinted glasses, pretty in a decidedly feminine way, currently seated in what looks like a private office.]
I wanted to thank everyone who in some way aided Redgate, during the recent events. Almost everyone went their separate ways fairly quickly after the incident in the ocean, and I can't blame them for just wanting to get back to their lives, but I do regret being unable to do anything to properly show my gratitude before that. Funds are still a little tight here, with the mines still inoperable after the dragon situation, so I can't offer much in way of a reward. But Redgate owes a debt to all of you -- I owe you -- and I'll do what I can to repay that debt, somehow.
[Aaand there's that obligatory noble gesture out of the way. Better, definitely, if he can deal with that debt on a more personal level and save Redgate itself any trouble.]
With that said, I thought it was only right to make a general announcement of the current situation, after raising such a fuss earlier. It was -- as anyone who's dealt with Reynard might have guessed -- a trap. The Fox did what he could to rid himself of those of us there at the time, and he and his daughter stole the bones of Lady Alyosha's kin. They failed to kill anyone, thankfully, but they still managed to escape.
[Beyond that, he hasn't heard much of what's up. Some people have cities to run and can't go running off across the map on a Fox hunt. But he certainly looked unhappy to have to report it, and with a sigh and a slight shake of the head, he moves on.]
That all aside, I see there's been another batch of new arrivals. I'm sorry you all had to arrive during such a mess of a time, but if any questions remain that I might be able to answer, I'd be happy to try to help. And know that Redgate is open to you, regardless of your court.

[ EYEROLL ]
That was my thinking.
video;
Perhaps that was his real plan all along, to prevent us from warning anyone about him by the simple fact that we're all too damn spiteful to do anything he asks.
[The sarcasm here is so painfully heavy.]

[ travel guide for her or something...shijima is so good at this conversation thing. ]

Well, I think so. But I'm clearly biased.

[ because the dark and gloomy decor seems to negate those being a thing as much as a cat would like, in caer scima. unfortunate!!! ]

[Also everything is red, so. Y'know, at least the color scheme is certainly warmer.]
And the road across the gate itself is so large that it's never overshadowed by anything.

Forget the debt. You don't have to do anything.

You might have died, trying to help me. I can't just forget about that.

[He makes a mental list of useful people for various situations, and Bolin's pretty much smack dab at the top and underlined on that list now.]
But let's hope it doesn't actually become necessary again anytime soon.

I'm glad that you're safe.
video;
All in all, I was probably in the least danger of everyone involved. My safety is the last thing anyone should have been worrying over.
video;
Those ocean waters were very cold and you undertook such a large burden in such a short amount of time. I'm permitted to worry.

[Reynard still got in, and he still got away with the bones. The soldiers here were all pretty jazzed about their lord surviving the Fox, but it doesn't feel like much of a victory.]

What the fuck did he want with a bunch of bones?
video.
I've no idea, but it's the Fox. So certainly nothing good.
video.
And still no idea where he is? Or, I guess, where he's going? [ kaldur and waver promised they'd keep her informed, but she's getting a little antsy with still no word. ]

Briar doubted he'd get a choice in getting involved eventually as it were.]
Forgive me for asking such an ignorant question. Unfortunately, I happen to be one of those new arrivals. If you've a moment would you mind telling me more about this Redgate and Fox?
video
[He smiles, patient and gentle, and inclines his head in way of greeting. Of course he has a moment for this -- it's always worth his time to cultivate a helpful, sweet reputation.]
Redgate is a city and fortress to the west of both courts, placed along the Western Road where it acts as a toll. The whole place is made from blood granite, a stone that negates magic and makes Redgate perhaps the most secure place in the Drabwurld. It was founded by an ex-shardbearer, the Lady Alyosha, who was killed a few months ago by the Fox.
[And with that convenient little transition...]
Reynard the Fox is also an ex-shardbearer, though a much less pleasant one. He collects shards, often torn straight from a person's chest, and he knows how to make use of their power.
