❖ 001 ; VOICE ⇨ VIDEO ( SEELIE + UNSEELIE )
[ the voice that can be heard is full of nervousness and skepticism ]
Alright, then. I know this is working, it worked for everyone else, no reason it wouldn't for me - aside for the matter that I do not know what I seem to be doing at all -
[ but then, video! at first you might see only freckles and then she'll step back and you'll see a young woman with dark curls, a purple, flowery dress and one bottom lip that seems to be busied between her teeth. ]
-- Greetings to both courts, I have heard there are two. I hope there are not more and if there are -
[ she might be offending someone. oh no. she'll take a quick yet graceful curtsy ]
to those who can hear - see! me. My name is Gunievere - Gwen, really. of Camelot! I - the fairies -
[ the fairies. this is so unsettling ]
I was told I was brought here to help. I will do all that I can but I - I am but a maidservant. I do not know what I can do, truly but whatever you might need of me, I am in your service.
-- They will send us home when our duties are through, will they not? I have other.
[ erm ]
duties! at home. I am already in the service of a Lady and she might be unsettled with me being gone.
[ and morgana being unsettled is bad news to all ]
--- It's nice to meet you all, I'm certain. Whatever I can do, truly.

video;private; but who is lacenlot
... They can talk about Morgana later. ]
I know where the kitchens of Caer Glaem are. Stay put. I can come find you.
[ Lancelot when did you get so bossy. OH OKAY when you got internally terrified of people being hurt and it being your fault. Carry on. ]
video;private;does this forever now idc
[ she nods her head once and then again, biting on her bottom lip and even though she assumes he has been here for quite a long while, she still adds a - ]
Please be careful.
ACTION;LOVINGLY CLIFFS YOU
It's a matter of minutes for him to quickly splash water on his face to make himself look more awake, fuss to make himself tidy--
(Does he look tidy? Would it be strange of him to turn up in Seelie colours? Where is his Camelot cloak?! Can he wear his Camelot cloak in Caer Glaem without looking strange? He thinks so, but -- never mind easier to wear neither.
So it is that he comes at a slightly quick walk through the halls eventually, eyes flitting around until they settle on her.
He slows to a stop, taking in her appearance before speeding up again suddenly.
There will be a hug. It is coming your way right now, Gwen. ]
ACTION;
but then there is lancelot and she lifts her hand, a smile spreading on her lips and she rushes forward, falls into his arms and embraces him. ]
Lancelot! I am so glad to see you -
[ she pulls back, bites her lip and clears her throat. ]
Are you alright? How long have you been here?
ACTION;
Well. He collects himself, focuses on the question. ]
Some months now. This place is -- strange. I have found people do not remember the same things, always. Forgive me, I know it sounds impossible but -- well. Things become impossible when magic is involved.
ACTION;
[ at once. she would never doubt lancelot, not ever and from the little she had seen, nothing made sense in this realm. it seems that all that was impossible before is shaping itself into something very real now. ]
Magic. Lancelot, I don't understand. None of us have magic, how can we possibly hope to help in this war? if those who attack us do have magic - I don't even know who they are.
[ and how are they to fight a war against people who might not really be enemies? ]
ACTION;
No harm will come to you, I swear it Guinevere, and if you wish to help us I will find a way. Fighting is not the only thing that must be done to help a war effort.
ACTION;
[ and how is she expected to fight a court her best friend is a part of? ]
ACTION;
You say this, and yet they will fight us regardless. The lady Morla sends troops to burn through our gates and cut down our soldiers regardless of our wishes. We may not wish to bring the fight to them, Guinevere, I know I do not -- but they bring it to us despite our desires to let them live.
ACTION;
[ and with every detail she hears she becomes more worried for morgana, more anxious to see her. ]
Not in the middle of war. She is my friend - if she is hurt, I will never forgive myself for leaving her.
ACTION;
She is not alone, Guinevere, and she was unhurt last time we spoke. She tended to me, in fact, when I was in danger.
ACTION;
[ much more than whatever stories she has heard from other people, the fearful tales of the witch who have taken camelot by force. somehow, she knows they are one and the same but it doesn't make sense to her at all. ]
I'm - very grateful that she's not hurt.
[ though leaving her at the unseelie court still seems like a terrible betrayal. ]
ACTION;
[ He takes a slow breath, reaches out for Guinevere's hands again. ]
Tell me -- how do you remember the Lady Morgana? What is the last you recall of her?
ACTION;
[ she lets him take her hands but not ease her into this. ]
I remember her gone for a year and every day I wondered if she was dead or hurting or cold. I remember having her back and I remember her good and sweet and kind and that is what she is.
[ though the rejection stings. ]
Life has been cruel to Morgana and she was by herself. She - I never knew of her magic and the King - I think of how she must have felt, how lonely. I cannot leave her feeling like this again. I'll never forgive myself if I do.
ACTION;
ACTION;
[ she tightens her hand to his own, smiles if only in order to summon an inner sense of optimism which refuses to depart from her despite of it all. ]
I promise I won't. For her sake and yours and our friends'. I do not want to worry anyone.
[ she would put her own sake last. ]
ACTION;
I have missed you, Guinevere. I know it is -- it is far from ideal, to be here. It is dangerous. Confusing. I would not wish it upon you, if I had the choice to return you I would. Yet I am glad of your company all the same, selfish as it is.
ACTION;
[ she reassures with an easy smile because that's so true in her opinion. Lancelot is noble and selfless. she is only glad he is getting the recognition he deserves here, judging by how highly others speak of him.
she is not surprised. ]
I am very glad to see you too, Lancelot. It's been - entirely too long.
ACTION;
[ He may be... gazing at her. Over-fondly. Still holding her hands.
Suddenly realising this he takes a breath, releases her awkwardly and darts his eyes. Right.
Right.
Come on. Be... constructive. Practical. Less with the hand-holding and gazing. ]
You must be tired, I am sure, from all the fuss. Have you explored the castle, had something to eat? You will have a room assigned to you. I could help you find it, if you wish.
ACTION;
[ she tidies down her dress even though there is no need. ]
I saw my room and the kitchens. I wasn't certain where we're allowed to go.
[ which sounds odd now but she is still quite trapped in the mindset of a servant girl rather than realizing the depth of equality here. ]
ACTION;
[ He offers her a small smile, gestures up the hall with one hand. ]
The courtyard has a decent garden, if such things interest you, else there is a wardrobe where they make clothes, a feasting hall...
[ Pick a place, he will lead on! ]
ACTION;
[ she picks up on that and brightens at once at the concept of something to do. ]
At the wardrobe? Are we allowed to take some? Perhaps I could sew.
[ for herself; for morgana. ]
ACTION;
[ His smile turns a touch rueful for a second (he understands, of course, but he cannot help but imagine what Guinevere's life might be like were she no longer a servant. Were she truly Queen of Camelot, beside Arthur) yet he takes a breath -- gives a half turn to orientate himself before gesturing. ]
The wardrobe is this way, I can take you there.
ACTION;
[ he will walk and she will follow, fall to his side in a a pace that's east and perhaps somewhat familiar. she looks at him for half a moment, bites her lip. ]
Tell me how you've been?
ACTION;
Busy.
[ He links his hands together, twists them absently as he tries to think of something to say that isn't please do not get hurt please don't leave me please be safe. ]
Caer Glaem is a beautiful city, but it has much that needs doing. I am nowhere near as experienced as many others would be, but it has fallen to me, so I do my best. Try to keep as many safe as I can.
