[ She waves a hand as she speaks as if to brush off the topic. ] It may have gone unnoticed, but as the Master of Archer it's only proper to inform you that he took his leave earlier last month of this world. Speaking of paying off debts, my workshop is ready to take costumers. My specialty is conversion magic as well as command over all five of the elements. [ Her expression is rehearsed and composed, much like a teacher addressing a class full of idiots. ] In short, I can do a number of things many others don't advertise they can do. It seems pointless to keep my status as a magus here a secret when the world is surrounded by magic. Though it would be nice to learn something useful like shooting a bow...

[ She mutters that last part. ]

Anyway, speak with me about what you want and I'll arrange to help you if I can. We can sort out payment, favors, and IOU's later, especially if you're new to this world. I'm flexible.

[ Yeah, well Morgana stinks and is a filthy Servant thief so Rin is way better. ]

[Merida raises her hand to show, closing her fist and opening it again. There's a small flicker of flame before it vanishes and she mumbles a curse under her breath in Gaelic, dropping her hand again.]

I was goin' tae stick with sword an' bow if I couldn't make it work by th' end of th' month.

[ It's a good thing it's fire and the relief shows in her face. She doesn't have to go through too much effort to help her with that. ]

Spells of the fire element are related to consumption, heat, entropy, fuels, energy transfer, and thermodynamics. There's a lot you can do with it. You're lucky.

[There's a sheepish look on her face when Rin says those last few words.]

I'm afraid I don't...know what ye mean by most of that. [She raises a hand to scratch the back of her neck.] I'm from Scotland in 1066, so...

I'm not royalty, but I can at least help you master your fire magic. My father's specialty was of the flame.

[She gestures to a black streak in her hair. It's small but easily noticed amid the sea of red.]

[ She too shares this resemblance of electrical devices blowing up in her face, Merida. It's good company from here on out. ]

Decided to keep it as a reminder?

It's all right. I'm decent at handling fire well enough so no harm will come to your hair. After all, it'd be a shame to ruin anymore of that vibrant color.

Maybe I can see if there's a way to teach you how to ward it off from magical harm. Good chances are it holds a lot of magical energy in its current state--but that's something I'll have to confirm for myself up close.

Hair can hold magical energy?

[She picks at a strand of hair curiously, looking at it out the corner of her eye before shrugging.]

Aye, I'll be sure tae. I'm travelin' around th' Eastward an' Southern roads practicin' my swordsmanship so I won't be that far away.

It can. Magical energy, or prana in my world, is found both within the world as well as the individuals who inhabit it. I'd like to see if your body is capable of producing it, which it should be seeing as you can conjure flame, but there's no telling if the rules of magic are different for you or not.

Are you practicing how to use a sword as well? I've got a stick!

[ Sheepishly realizing how stupid that sounds, she corrects herself. ] A stick I've enchanted to weight the same as a training sword that I've been practicing swinging around. Maybe we can spar!
