As some of you are aware, there was a fire in Caer Glaem's library. An intruder was in the buidling.

As it stands, we as shardholders are the strongest thing our court has to defend itself. If the shardholders of the other court come to us the footsoldiers will be cut down all too easily -- a shardholder is worth 30 or so of the other soldiers.

If we are to defend Caer Glaem therefore we must help in not just leaving her to pursue alliances and fight enemies, but by the stationing of guards. We must keep track of who enters and leaves our city, be vigilant against agents of Morla scouting us out or attacks against us. As you may already be aware myself and Sir Grimm are holding training all through this month for anyone who wishes to learn, but this will require people good at keeping records too.

An enemy of Caer Glaem is an enemy to all of us. It is as much pragmatism as kindness. If you find such a threat it is better for all of us if it is wiped out.

That's a bloodthirsty attitude, too--not that I don't like it, anyway.

So, how about we do the formal thing and exchange names properly?

[ It isn't bloodthirsty it is practicality! If you are to survive your enemy must not.

Forgive me. My name is Lancelot, I am a Knight of the Golden Cadre and Marshal of the forces here in Caer Glaem.

Ahh, that Lancelot? I've heard good things about you, pal. You gold-cloaks are easily the most famous knights in this land.

[It was easy enough to tell. Whenever he saw someone with a gold cloak, they were always closely followed by a crowd.]

You can call me Lancer--or, Cu Chulainn, if you don't mind the pronunciation.

[ Are they? How embarrassing! He's almost about to protest when the second comment catches him off guard. ]

Forgive me, is that a common name? You are the second I have spoken to who has given their name as such.

A name? Nah, it's a title. The fella you're talking about isn't exactly named that--it's just something he's called 'cause of his specialty, like myself.

[At that, he found himself grinning from behind his locket.]

[ ... Oh! So Lancer is a title! That actually makes sense, to him. He did have two polearms! ]

Ah, forgive me then! I did not realise. You are from the same land, then?

Coincidentally, we are--but, the title's a bit weirder than that. I can't blame ya' for that misunderstanding, really.

[His grin was apologetic--he didn't realize his secret was all that odd a trait.

Though, not many people actively pursued such weird venues of interest like the Holy Grail.]

'Lancer' is a title for a type of warrior reigned in to fight in a very weird little war.

[ That sounds... confusing, honestly. ]

Then... those who hold this title do not have to be from the same land. They can be drawn then... like the monarchs do here, with us?
