[Ganondorf is not usually a man to speak at length or to make messages on the lockets. But in light of recent developments and his aims to begin working against a tedious rival, it is time to begin gathering forces to him. He's built himself a sizable army already. Now he needs shardholders to stand with him. He has come to understand that each one of them might potentially be as valuable as a hundred native soldiers.]

With the passing of my sixth month, a fourth collection of Shardholders has been drawn into this world. The war carries on, though fate would seem to favor the side of our monarchs. [Absent as they might be...]

I am Ganondorf Dragmire. In my own land, I was the King of the Gerudo and of Hyrule. Until I return there, I am presently the Lord of Mair. My keep and city was won by conquest and much work has been done to rebuild and improve upon it. There are those among our court who helped to win and those who have labored to restore it. I have arranged quarters be provided for each one of you. You will always find Mair a safe haven as repayment for your efforts.

To those other Unseelie sharded, I extend my welcome to come visit the city. You need not travel the long road here. The High Queen has provided a Fairy Ring to the outside of the city. The land here is rich and bountiful so much that the people idle their time away in gambling houses and taverns. No doubt most will find some manner of entertainment within the city. [Says a man who clearly doesn't go out of his way for entertainment.]

Furthermore to those who wish to press the battle and see this war ended, then I welcome you to fight beneath my banner. Those who serve me will not go unrewarded. We stand on the cusp of victory. Already we have claimed powerful allies from Redgate and Maupertius. [Though he is eager to be rid of the latter...] We may have lost one battle at Cothromach, but we have slain their dragon and given our Seelie counterparts pause to reconsider their allegiance. Once the Seelie monarchs have been taken from their throne, we will at long last be able to return to our rightful homes.

There was a battle that was instigated over an important heirloom that belonged to a member of this court. A woman named Clarrise La Rue had managed to obtain it. My comrade made efforts to regain it diplomatically, but she would not yield it. In the end, he felt obliged to march to war to reclaim it. His forces were routed and his life and shard were taken.

The battle took place north of Cothromach, though truthfully the city was scarcely involved.

Ah, I see. You had me worried that the city had become a warzone before I'd ever had a chance to visit. I've heard it's nice there.

As have I. Yet I have heard it has been promised to another. I hope to chance a visit myself before it trades hands.

Has it? Do you think the city will suffer in the trade?

[dragmire]

It sits not but days from the seat of Caer Gleaem. Its people will have roots and loyalties to the Seelie cause. Where the city of Mair was held by brigands and scoundrels with no loyalties, Cothromach is a city that has an allegiance already. They will have friends and family even beyond the reaches of their mountain. Whatever unwitting soul has been promised the city will have to face quite the burden of administrating a city of patriots who despise him or her. The undertaking would be... perilous.

[he frowns thoughtfully, gaze dropping away as he seems to consider that idea for a few moments, before he glances back to the locket curiously.]

There are many here who seem to prefer neutrality, though. Shardbearers who have no interest in this war or the courts. Are you certain that the intent is to claim it for the Unseelie?

I cannot be certain of their intentions at all. But I wonder if that distinction will matter to the city's inhabitants.

Who can say? It does indeed seem like a dangerous position to be in. But then, I have seen countries that will quietly accept whoever rules them, so long as the people are allowed to keep their peace and their livelihoods.

[dragmire]

Perhaps so. For the sake of the city, we must hope this individual possesses the wisdom for it.

[Though even that small interest in the city (and this prolonged discussion) now gave him suspicions. What mattered to him most was whether or not the city truly would remain neutral in the hands of an Unseelie shardbearer. His only interest was eliminating another player before they could join the game.]
