This locket's pretty nifty. [Lancer, poised on the edge of a cliff, leaned his locket against one rock as he fiddled with a cloak and brooch, trying to pin one to the other without ripping it. He kept doing it over and over so he could weather it down and make it more comfortable to wear. When he got into a good little cycle of repetition, he spoke up, again.]

So, hey--I'm curious, has anyone heard about any 'help wanted' situations in Caer Glaem? I'd ask, but I figure this little artifact's got a good reputation is folks're using it so often.

[He continued talking, returning his eyes to the cloak and brooch.]

Let's see--I'm good with a plow, I know my way around horses and spreading seed... [Said nonchalantly, examining his handiwork.]

Pretty good at preparing and serving food. I wouldn't recommend me as the cook, though. I can read and write. [Conveniently, in every language on Earth.]

I'm a really good gardener, too--on top of farming, I mean. If you like flower-arrangement and things like that, you could say I've got a real knack for it.

[Lancer, seemingly content with the work he had done with the cloak and brooch, set both aside and began folding them where they lay. He crossed his arms and grinned back at the locket.]

So, if you folks know anyone who's hiring, put in a good word for me! You can call me [A pause. Lancer definitely stopped at that, thinking through his options.] Lancer. Yeah, I'll stick with that. It's gotten to be a habit, by now.

Well, I can try to hold myself back if you want, but I can't be blamed if I tell you truthful things about your finer qualities.

[That was to say--he refused. Leia was probably making it worse by not outright telling him 'no' and hitting him with a newspaper.]

Sometimes honesty just slips right out of me.

[she'll learn eventually and find herself a good newspaper roll. The part of her that never gets hit on is kind of going haywire over the attention is making her act like an idiot all over the board]

Geez... [she holds the video away from her face for a second and there is the sound of her... yep, patting her hands against her cheeks in a 'GURL CALM DOWN' motion, and then she's back]

Well I guess that's kind of an agreement. Anyway, I'll start doing some digging and looking for a cool inn. I'll let you know what I find!

[It was a good thing Lancer had other things on his mind. If the first thing that he wanted to do that day was go hunting, then Leia wouldn't have been let off the hook. She'd probably have to mace him down the line at some point--]

Ahh, you're gonna do the research on your own? I thought we'd go for a little walk.

I want to get a feel for the town first. Heck, I wouldn't even know where to get started! Trust me, we'll be way more efficient this way.

Efficiency isn't my highest priority, but I can't help but admit it'd be nice to know where I'd earn my coin.

[Since food and normal drinks were free, but ale at the tavern wasn't.]

Exactly! And we can't be doing our best work if we're standing round gabbing all day.

[and she's vowing to herself that she'll have her shit together by then]

Well, now. [And, Lancer was vowing to get Leia to break that vow--]

[about an hour and a half later, he gets a text message (hey I found a cool place (`･ω･´) meet me at the front ~ (^_^)/ /(~o~)\ )

And indeed, Leia is standing around there, hands clasped behind her and slowly shifting her weight back and forth from her right foot, left foot, right foot....]

[Lancer stared at Leia's message with a deadened expression awhile before sighing and putting his locket back in his pocket.

He showed up right next to Leia a bit too quickly, simply appearing as if he were there from the start.]
