[ At first the feed is silent, just showing a small grassy plain. Then, suddenly, there's a quiet little yip and something pops into view -- a puppy, looking more than a little excited, with wings fluttering around it's little body as it moves, barking at the camera (or, rather, who is behind the camera). Eventually it moves, with a scuffling noise, and Hermione's face pops into view, at least until she is mauled by the dog licking at her and clambering to get into her lap. She accepts it with good grace, of course, just laughing and patting at the lovely thing's head. ]

I was given this lovely boy by the faeries today and I have no idea who it's from - it must be a gift because I didn't ask for him, at least not this time. I wanted to say thank you to whoever it was because he's adorable! He's the cutest thing I've ever seen - and I've decided to call him Padfoot.

[ She knows Harry and Ron will understand and she hopes neither of them will be put off by the nickname. She moves to shut off the feed even as the puppy goes to try and bite at the chain holding the locket in her fingertips. ]

I was given my boon by the faeries and - it's incredible. They've given me a book that'll teach me how to make my own network, like the lockets but only for us to use. I was wondering if you'd all tell me what kind of thing you'd want, if you want a personal network for anyone or just for you and some friends? And what you'd like it on - a watch or a necklace or something? Let me know, please?

By the way...what kind of dog is that? It's not part of Greek mythology, I can say that much.

I'm not sure. The faeries said he was a Simarg, but even that's a new animal for me.

[He thinks about the word, but eventually he shakes his head.]

Never heard of it, though I'm definitely not an expert on Celtic mythology. Is Padfoot the name of a friend of yours?

[Honestly, Nico can't think of anyone's mother actually naming their child Padfoot, but...stranger things have happened.]

Maybe it's a Drabworld thing? I've never heard of dogs with wings either. Hippogriffs are one thing, but Padfoot is something different.

[ She smiles, touching the dog's jaw and scratching under his chin. ]

A nickname for one, yes. One of our best friends.

That's possible, too. Although, I'm suddenly glad that my dog doesn't have wings. He might break someone on accident.

[He looks rueful at this.]

Sounds like a story's behind the nickname. What's his actual name?

I wouldn't be surprised if this one did. He might end up tripping me and everyone I'm travelling with in his excitement.

[ She bows her head, smile softening. ]

A friend of mine, named Sirius. He could turn into a dog and because of that his nickname was 'Padfoot'.

I seriously hope he doesn't get any bigger than a golden retriever. I'd seriously hate to see an Irish wolfhound size flying dog crashing into people.

[He can't help it. Nico snickers.]

Those are the most appropriate names I've ever heard for a guy who can turn into a dog.

Imagine if he grew big enough for me to ride. That'd be incredible and frightening.

[ She's still grinning, nodding her head. ]

His other nickname was Snuffles.

[He outright grins at that.]

If he gets that big, then I'll have to see if someone I know can fashion battle armor for him.

He'd be the most fearsome flying dog ever made.

[ She's laughing now, though, leaning back. ]

Yes! Our special nickname for him.

Exactly.

[He laughs, and it surprises him a little. He hasn't laughed like this with anyone in...a very long time. Jason's gotten him to laugh, and so has Clarisse, but not this easily or often like Hermione has. He thinks...this might be a nice change.]

That's amazing. And kind of cute. I guess it's better than calling him Fido or Spot.

Oh, no, I don't think Sirius would've ever forgiven us if we'd called him Fido.

[ She shakes her head, smiling fondly. ]

Maybe 'Lucky', though?

Lucky...or Fluffy.

[Stitch might be the most appropriate for Sirius Black, but Nico wouldn't know that.]

Fluffy works too! He was huge.

I hope not Clifford or Cerberus huge. Cerberus could eat you out of house and home. Literally.

And not as big as the Fluffy I've met before, either. Three heads are far too many.
